DESCRIPTION

The 8,000 Hour Challenge was designed to encourage and award New Jersey FFA Chapters that "Live toServe." This challenge was created by the 2008-09 State FFA O�cer team - "Serve Today to Impact theFuture." The goal is for New Jersey chapters to collectively log 8,000+ hours from April 1 - March 30 of thecurrent application year (i.e. If applying in 2010, hours would count from April 1, 2009 - March 30, 2010).

ELIGIBILITY

All chapters chartered by the New Jersey FFA Association are eligible and encouraged to participate in the8,000 Hour Challenge. All chapters are eligible for recognition in the challenge each year.

Community service hours are de�ned as being part of an approved FFA chapter function. Advisors must beaware of the community service project and approve them as team sanctioned function. Hours areconsidered on an individual basis. To easily �gure out community service hours for a chapter function, usethe following equation:

APPLICATION INCLUDES

1. Form I: For Gold, Silver, or Bronze community service project rating consideration, documentinghours.

2. Form II: For the Outstanding Community Service Award consideration, �ll out Form I then documentone (1) community service project in a Power Point presentation. Form II will not be acceptedwithout properly �lling out Form I.
