: The TiM551 is the new outdoor-rated ranging laser scanner from SICK.

: It sends information about surrounding contours out over Ethernet using time-of-flight, the same technology as an LMS scanner

: Up to a 10 meter range (8 meters on black)

: Suitable for indoor and outdoor use with its IP 67 rating and wide operating temperature range of -25 °C to +50 °C

: Small footprint at just 86 mm tall and 3 watt power consumption

: The sensor is based on Time Of Flight (TOF) technology – distance is calculated based on the time measured between sending and receiving an infrared pulse

: To ensure a small, power-efficient, and reliable laser scanner, SICK’s own High Definition Distance Measurement (HDDM) technology is used

: With HDDM, 84 pulses are sent out per degree and an algorithm chooses the strongest echo. Due to this, a lower power pulse can be used which reduces size and power requirements.
