• The purpose of this cable structure is to give stability and resistance to bending to a pipe which runs in the middle from one end to the other end of the structure. It is achieved by a spiral cable bracing bearing on compression hoops connected to the pipe core by radial ties. (Even though I design tension structures, with a little trick, compression can be used in the design, as you see.)

• This is a membrane structure covering a concert hall. It was one of my first designs. More information about the design process can be found.

• The truss "super-structure" and the membrane were handled together during form-finding. The design would have been easier if they had been handled separately, but it was a challenge.

• A wireframe version of a hyperbolic surface. The cables give the "driving force" during the form-finding while the membrane pieces can be imagined as stretched between the cables.
