The group I will be wanting to work with will be the cadet services with in Liverpool to be precise it is the sea cadets that are based in Bootle area well just towards Liverpool city centre. Sea cadets was created in 1884 In Kent and it was established to give young people a taste of naval life. The centre I am wanting to work with is the organisation known as SEA Cadets Liverpool city. Now this pacific group who teach the young people about naval life are in partnership Royal Navy and receive help and support when needed and, this pacific centre is one of 400 across the UK today who all teach young people about the naval and all are part of Sea Cadet Corps who is led/supported by the national charity MSSC - the Marine Society & Sea Cadets. This group when training doesn’t just work at there centre they also send there cadets RNHQ on East Brunswick Dock During the summer for waterborne activities.

Cadets services

The reasons for choosing this group is because they do a lot of movements as being cadets they are quite movement based and with out knowing they could be doing movement exercises which also we may do and I want to show the cadets just what drama is and just how hard it can be but not in an extreme way but just to give them a bit of fun in the aspect of it and I also want to see how they will handle doing some acting exercises and see if they find it easier or harder then there own cadet training. For example I think when it comes to the story telling game they might not feel comfortable with sharing there thoughts let alone acting it out so I feel that one were its more acting they may feel a bit more isolated. But were it comes to an exercise such as hot potato or stuck in the mood they will probably be better as or find it more fun as its more running around but at the same time gets them greatly warmed up.

Why did I chooseMy group?

Page 5: The group I will be wanting to work with will be the cadet services with in Liverpool to be precise it is the sea cadets that are based in Bootle.

Wanting to show cadets how fun drama is-reason for this is I feel yes they do hard training and they would enjoy a little break.

To make them compare-I want them to be able to compare there own training to the workshop exercises and able to say what they found easy and hard I want this to be able to show them drama is not all that easy.

How they can connect-Wanting them to maybe even use some exercises and if they want more I will give them which they may even use in the future help with there own training

What are the Aims of my Workshop?

MY workshop

idea

My plan-Warm-up My idea is to give a mixture of both movement exercises and some

improvisation. At the start I would give name tags out and that way I wont have to remember everyone's names so that will be the starting point.

First exercises will be warm up games:10-15 minutes

Hot potato(time bomb)-I am anting to do my version of the game which gets them concentrating and making sure there ready but also has them running around having fun and the aim of the game is to not be the last one with the ball but however yes my version might be to complicated which is why I will be willing to do the more simpler version which is not as much running around but I feel with them being used to running around they will be able to do my one

Knights, kings and maidens-this is game of team work but also gets them thinking with each other the aim of the game is when I say one of the three they have to get with another member of the group quickly and do the action.

Page 8: The group I will be wanting to work with will be the cadet services with in Liverpool to be precise it is the sea cadets that are based in Bootle.

Ninja-this warm up game is a sense of reflection as it gets them focusing properly and concentrating properly as the aim of the game is to focus on the members around you and it’s a game to get the members focusing and also get the concentrating side of their brain up and ready.

If ninja is not want they want to play I will offer to play sleepy hollow as it is a good storytelling game and also gets them looking at each others faces and thinking properly.

My plan-warm up

The second part of my workshop is doing some improvisation games and this is because its one of my favourite styles of acting and also it’s a great starting part for people who haven’t really acted before and its great for the cadets at a starting point.

Exercises will last up to 20 minutes

The chase-The aim of this game is working against a partner who each member chooses when ever I shout out a different scenario they would have to think of ways to chase the other person away from them of course in a calmly manner and this aim is to get them into a starting point of acting and also just a little nice competition between friends. Then as a whole group I would get the group to chase only one person away but the person being chased away would have to try there hardest to think of reasons on why to stay but if it’s a large group I will simply let half group watch and then swap

The contrast-This game is splitting the group in half and putting each half into smaller equal groups if possible and basically I would give each group different scenario’s so for example one small group would have a comedy one were as the other one will have a series problem scenario and so on and this is to see how each group takes the scenario they get and how they interpreted it into there own minds and to also see how they perform in front of the other groups

My plan-Improvisation

Page 10: The group I will be wanting to work with will be the cadet services with in Liverpool to be precise it is the sea cadets that are based in Bootle.

Meyerhold believed that the performance style of realism reduced the expressivity of the actor because it was based on tiny and small behaviors of the character (Pitches, 2003, pp.47-50),

MEYERHOLD

The key theoretical principles of Meyerhold's anti-illusionistic theatre and approaches to acting are:

non-naturalistic theatre stylisation rhythm and music the mask the grotesque biomechanics Chaplin and montage (adapted from Pitches,

2003, p.46).

I will start first by doing a small little breathing exercises and do a little warm up just a few movements to music getting them warm and ready for the exercises.

Movement exercises will last up to 20 minutes total workshop of 55 minutes.

Relay game-This would have the group in teams of four and I would have four types of movements in how they get across the space, with being sea cadets I want them doing marching or naval type movements such as army crawl or hopping or marching but want it over the top and this big big movements and which ever team has all players who makes across the space would win.

Snake-This game will be the final one and I want to teach them a small sequence of big movements and because they are used to moving together they will find this easy to do so will teach them this movement but it will be acting movements like using face give or just there chest but would want them doing big movements and the challenge will be having them do it all in sync but in case this wont work will have teams of four and have them create movements which will tell a story of maybe one of there lives. I will use Meryholds technique and add music to add the effect to wear they can really feel the muscles they use when moving each part od there body

My plan-Movement

The workshop will take place in the Sefton sea cadets centre and I will be taking Chloe and Kevin with me and reasons for this due to my stutter and from time to time I’m worried that words wont come out and this situation especially Kevin they know how to help me with it and will support me if my stutter kicks of but I also want to use them as when needed to demonstrate my exercises that is what they will be there for.

The way I would want feedback is to that I would want to record them as I find that easier to evaluate from however not everyone would want to so if they don’t I will have forms ready for them just a form of four question:

1. 1-10 how did you enjoy the workshop.

2. 1-10 how much did you benefit from workshop.

3. what didn’t you like.

4. If you was to do it again what would you want added to the workshop.
