August 21 - Twenty First Sunday in Ordinary Time JUBILEE YEAR OF MERCY
~ Gaze on Us with Love ~
Vessels of Mercy: A Prayer for Mercy
God of mercy, as you have forgiven us
So you send us forth to bear your message of mercy
to all.
Give us willing feet and gentle hands.
Bless us with listening ears and searching eyes.
Endow us with understanding minds.
Ordain us with compassionate hearts.
In our acts and in our words
Make us vessels of your mercy
To reach out to the broken
On behalf of the Father who wipes away our debts
As lovingly as He wipes away our tears
And calls His children home.
Help us lift your people in body and spirit.
And so make every year a year of mercy. Amen. (Catholic Relief Services)

Father Mansuetus Setonga from the Diocese
of Same, Tanzania, will visit our parish next
weekend, August 27th and 28
th. Due to droughts,
the Diocese of Same is one of the poorest
dioceses in Tanzania. Life expectancy is 60
years. About 67.9% of the population lives in
absolute poverty (less than a dollar a day).
A large number of people in these villages
die prematurely every year due to lack of access
to health care services. The Diocese of Same has
been requested by villagers of Ruvu to help
them purchase an ambulance to ferry women to
the government hospital prior to delivery before
complications develop, which will help to
alleviate a large number of maternal deaths.
Your assistance will be most humbly
appreciated.
