In 1969, Ernest Huckleby, the father of Ernestine, fed mercury treated seed tothe family hogs not realizing the dangers of mercury. Mr. Huckleby slaughtered a hog for the holidays and fed it to his family. 4 of the children were severelyharmed, comas, blindness, no control over their bodies and eventually death. Baby, Michael was born blind and mentally impaired.

These hogs and others were slaughtered and buried in this same landfill. Concerns were not to unearth the remains. There were other concerns malathion barrels and military waste. So caution was of great concern.
