Tech Yes | Week 110th Grade

What is TechYES?

In the future, you’ll need to use and understand different kinds of technology for work and school -- going beyond just texting and adding hashtags to your latest selfie

TechYES is an opportunity for you to learn, explore, build, communicate, and design with technology

The goal is for you to build your skills with technology

You’ll be completing a college/career project this year in Advisory and a science project in Anatomy/Physiology

STLs (Student Tech Leaders) are available to help you

Project Introduction

Over the next 10 weeks you will be creating a digital project about your college/career path

Show your understanding of the obstacles on the road to college by designing or modeling a video game

Objective

What does it take to get to college?

You must consider the path to college. What goals would you

need to achieve to get there? (consider at least 3) think about the obstacles that keep you from

achieving those goals, and how you can overcome them

design a video game that demonstrates your path create a model of AT LEAST ONE level of your game

drawing or digital sketch live-action video model interactive online game

a realistic view of what you have do now to get the future you want

When will I work on this?

Advisory MONDAY and FRIDAY if you are late or absent, you are still responsible for

deadlines you may continue to work on this project before or

after school (work documents will be available online)

1. What is your position on college? Do you feel like you are on track at this point? Are you behind? Are you ahead? How do you know?

2. What are some factors in your life that help you get to college? In what ways do they help you?

3. What are some factors in your life that distract you or keep you from getting to college? How do they hinder you?

4. In what ways do you think you could represent this in a video game?5. What do you think you will need help with in this project?
