Improved Processing
A compounder and molder of automotive parts was
processing their nylon at too high a temperature causing
longer cycle times due to cooling and potential issues with
stability of the polymer. They replaced their incumbent
lubricant system with STRUKTOL® TR 063A which allowed
them to reduce the temperature of their compounding and molding
processes by almost 20°C which led to more consistent compounding
and faster molding cycle times. In addition, they reduced the tendency
to see discoloration in the parts due to stability issues, maximizing the
performance of their heat stabilizer package.
Increased Melt Flow
A compounder of recycled polyolefins was able to
dramatically increase the melt flow rate of a polypropylene
resin containing ~25% high-density polyethylene with
the addition of 0.5% of STRUKTOL® RP 37 processing aid/
viscosity modifier. The higher melt compound also resulted
in better processing and release properties in both extrusion and injection
molding applications due to the synergistic effect of this multi-component
additive. STRUKTOL® RP 37 enabled the customer to improve and add
value to an otherwise difficult to process material. The addition level of
STRUKTOL® RP 37 is adjusted depending on the melt flow of the starting
compound and the desired melt flow required for the application.
Odor Neutralization / VOC Reduction
A compounder of a colorant compound used for interior
automotive was able to reduce 30%+ VOC by adding only
2% of STRUKTOL® SA 1259 designed for odor and volatile
(VOC) control.
Recycle Content Incorporation
A customer manufacturing extruded composites had
available an ample source of recycled PE, PP and LLDPE
scrap, including trimmings from tetra-pack juice boxes.
Also available were large amounts of ground up
automobile tires. By using one of our STRUKTOL® TR
lubricant products in combination with one of our STRUKTOL® homogenizers,
loadings of up to 70% crumb rubber were incorporated into an extruded
profile with good processing characteristics and physical properties.

Antioxidants DSTDP and DLTDP thioester secondary antioxidants for use in conjunction with phenolic primary antioxidants in a wide range of polymers.
RP 11 RP 23 RP 38
Lubricating viscosity modifiers for polypropylene that provide consistent melt flow change in both virgin and recycled materials. These multi-functional additives are formulated to meet the desired amount of melt change in a given range. Available with odor control additives incorporated as needed, as is the case with RP 23 and RP 38. RP 38 is designed to work well in contaminated mixed recycle streams.
RP 17
An odor control additive that is effective in polymer systems containing recycled rubber and plastics content. It is ideal for automotive and recycling applications for improving both odor during processing, as well as odor of the final part. It can also be used in polyethylene and polypropylene based wood-plastic composites.

Control the Viscosity and Melt Flow Rate
Products designed specifically for polypropylene resins and compounds; these unique STRUKTOL® Innovative
Additives allow users to control the processability of their resins and custom design formulations to meet a
variety of flow rate specifications.

Unique Systems Provide
Lubrication and Stability
Custom designed solutions are available!
