There are small tasks you can do from your home that are a great
help to our parish. These include: candle wax reclamation, laundering
linen, small sewing projects, social media posts and more. Even if
you can’t make an extra trip to church during the week, talk to Fr.
O’Brien about how you can help from home!

St. Patrick’s Men’s club would like to extend an invitation to all the men of
our parish, included those at St. John the Baptist, to join in our events. The
Men’s Club will meet regularly on the First Saturday of the month for 8am
Mass, a reflection with fellowship and a few hours of work. Please contact
Fr. O’Brien to get involved! Our next meeting is Saturday August 3, 2019 at
8am.
Children’s Choir Concert
We’re so grateful for the Children’s Choir from Notre Dame University
that visited us last Thursday, July 18. It was truly moving to hear over 40
young voices united in chant and other settings of sacred texts!
To learn more about them, please visit their website: sma.nd.edu

It’s official! I’ve completed all the paperwork and all the
rituals needed in order to be pastor of St. Patrick’s. This past
Sunday at the 11am Mass, Msgr. John Cisewski, VF, lead the
ritual for the installation of a new pastor. Here is a photo
of the moment when I renewed my Profession of Faith and
swore the Oath of Fidelity. That moment was tremendously
moving for me. It
was as if I could feel
the responsibility of
being a pastor placed
upon my shoulders.
But at the same time,
I felt it as a sweet
yolk carried with
Christ. Of course,
I’m not alone in
carrying this yolk. I
am very grateful to
the members of our
Pastoral Council and
Finance Council (as
well as those from our staff and other ministries) who were
able to attend.
For the next month, we are blessed to host Mr. Noah
Delatte, FSSP, here at our parish rectory. Mr. Delatte is in
formation for the priesthood and will be spending some of
his summer break with us. I have no doubt that over the next
four weeks, our parish will welcome him warmly.
A very special thank you to Mr. Mike Hansen for his
assistance with some water damage repair projects in the
rectory. His expertise and generosity are a true blessing!
If you’ve made a visit to Reynold’s Hall you will notice
how fresh and clean it is. This is thanks to Mrs. Kimberly
Kraus and her mother, XXXXX. They completed the
project over two weekends and their hard work has really
paid off.
Not a soul enters St. Patrick’s without noticing the
sublime stained glass fan vault over the altar. We are in the
process of upgrading the lighting so that the beauty of this
glass is never diminished, day or night. Thanks to God, and
our maintenance supervisor, Manolito, the upgrade is very
affordable! Surplus donations for our narthex bench and
façade sign projects will be applied to this upgrade.
Along with some zealous parishioners, I am excited to
host another open house on “White Linen Night,” which is
Saturday, August 3. As crowds pass on the street, we will be
offering tours of the church and fellowship with
refreshments in Reynolds Hall. These efforts are aimed at
evangelization. We need more help! Volunteers can assist
with church tours, passing out flyers, supervising our
property, and socializing with guests from 6:30pm to
8:30pm. Finally, a word of caution, please expect parking and
driving in the neighborhood to be very difficult for the
Saturday evening Mass. There is no expected impact on
Sunday Masses.
