Upper Saddle River, Element name = Einsteinium Element Symbol = Es Atomic Number = 99 Average Atomic Mass = 252 etc Research Notes format Source #1 Web site or title of book Host/Author Webpage name or chapter name Information information Research Notes ex: Source #1UCLA chemistry department Einsteinium Atomic # 99 Symbol Es Solid at room temp You will create an outline of your PowerPoint slide show. You must have the outline completed and checked off by Mr. Boser before you will be allowed to start working on your PowerPoint. You will need to determine what information you are going to put on which page. You will also need to find/determine which pictures you are going to show in your powerpoint. (At least 3) You must have at least 7 slides (not counting the title and/or bibliography pages) Make sure the text is readable (big enough and an acceptable color). You need at least 3 pictures (with credits shown). You will need to make transitions between each slide and have animation in each slide. No Sounds! Automatic 5 point deduction! The next few slides include a PowerPoint that did not score well. (like previous example fireworks). This is the easiest method. Same color scheme, different backgrounds. Same background, different color schemes. and Warning: Do not do different backgrounds and different color schemes. There is no unifying theme and will be distracting to viewers. General Guidelines No biodegradable products! (aka FOOD, marshmallows ok) Neatness and Design do Count! Dont make your model too small The class needs to be able to see it during your presentation. All electrons, protons, and neutrons must be labeled or color-coded. There are 3 types of models depending on which element you have. Elements 1-10 Atomic Model Atomic #s 1-10 Protons Neutrons Electrons 1 st Energy Level 2 nd Energy Level Questions/Concerns for Elements 1-10 Elements 11-36 # of Protons # of Neutrons Atomic Model Atomic #s Nucleus 1 st Energy Level 2nd Energy Level 3rd Energy Level Electrons Questions/Concerns for Elements 11-36 Elements Atomic Poster Atomic #s Nucleus Energy Levels Electrons Title/Label # of Protons, Neutrons, Energy Levels, and Electrons Questions/Concerns for Elements Energy Levels and Electrons Remember electrons orbit the nucleus Electrons are found in levels or steps Different steps have different maximum numbers of electrons You will be creating a script for your presentation. Be sure to include when you are going to show your model dont show your model as an afterthought. Your script should be on note cards for the presentation. You should not have paragraphs of information on your slides just the highlights. You will tell the class the details. You will be presenting your PowerPoint and model to the class. You must present to the class or you will get 50% credit for the entire project.
