• Most -re verbs follow a conjugation pattern just like –er verbs do in French.
• To conjugate most verbs ending in –re, take off the –re and then add on endings to match the subject of the sentence.
attendre – to wait for
j’ attends
tu attends
Il/elle/on attend
nous attendons
vous attendez
ils/elles attendent
*NOTE that the il/elle/on form has no ending added to the stem.
Examples for attendre:
• Il attend Agathe.
He is waiting for Agatha.
• Nous attendons le bus.
We are waiting for the bus.
