Project:ERP selection, configure and deploy multiple applications, integration and processes such as, E-Business, BI, Oracle’s Siebel, Hyperion Applications and integrate to internal strategic applications

Need:Accurate and timely financial planning is a key objective in effectively managing core business needs. The financial planning process was incredibly time consuming, cumbersome and frustrating. Automation to pull the necessary information from other systems such as GL, payroll, accounting and supply costs to create the annual budget and projections was lacking.

BSI was hired to deliver the successful configuration, architecture and software integration which is flexible and able to accommodate future global deployments


Need: (Continued) The processing required for the budget calculations was extremely time consuming. Processing ran up to eight hours. Once a budget was ready for review, it was printed and sent in paper form to managers, directors and VP’s through interoffice mail.

Paperwork was sometimes lost and deadlines missed. Reporting: users were required to re-format reports every time a print was needed, wasting valuable time.

Users lacked the ability to capture variance explanations that could be printed and shared across the organization.

Xerox partnered with Bourntec to redefine existing Essbase process and implement Hyperion Planning solution.




Solution:We recommended that Xerox implement Oracle Hyperion Planning to automate and improve financial planning. Xerox agreed and In a matter of months the solution was successfully delivered:

• Hyperion Planning system focused on financial budgeting and projections. The core model consisted of three processes: statement of operations, revenue modeling by charge description master (CDM), as well as salary planning

• Hyperion Planning-based application by department managers to capture statistical volumes by day, pay period and month




Solution (continued)A flexible reporting solution that utilizes the reporting tools inherent in Oracle Hyperion Planning. Users were able to also input textual commentary for planning requests and variance explanations

Training and knowledge transfer throughout the implementation process that enabled Xerox to sustain and manage their Oracle EPM system with little support from IT and external vendors

*The project went live on time, on budget, and with all project objectives successfully completed.
