• Language used in a special way to create a special effect
• Example: “Put your heads together”
Simile:Comparison of 2

Metaphor• A comparison between two unlike things

• Example:
“Morning is a new sheet of paper to write on”
Personification• Giving human traits to
inanimate objects, animals, or feelings.
• Example: “The sun smiled on the happy walkers”
Rhyme•Repetition of the SAME sounds

Rhyme Scheme• The pattern of end rhyme

Repetition• Repeating a word or lines in a
