The carving shape above I found in the English magazine Woodturning. The wood is desert ash and coated with Kunos oil.

I turned the carving first as a deep vase and then used the tools above. The long tool is designed to enable you to turn end gain.

All the tools are available from Carroll Woodcrafts.

Just a few spinning tops made out of my old fence posts for the day out with Thomas. I also made the timber tray so when the kids spin the tops they do not end up on the floor.
