The Prince of Eastern Region His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Gov-

ernor of Eastern Province and His Highness Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Thunayan Al-Saud, Chair-

man of the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu attended the graduation ceremony held by the

day morning, 19 Shaaban 1437 H honoring the

employees of the sector ceremony under the

title "proud of you 2", and that a multi-purpose

hall in Jubail Industrial College, which included

honoring employees, as members of the faculty

who have spent more than 15 years’ service in

the Royal Commission, was the ceremony be-

gan with a welcoming speech followed by a

The GM of Colleges and Institutes Sector following up the work and activities at JTI

The GM of Colleges and institutes sector Dr. Ali

Asiri visited Jubail Technical Institute on Monday,

Oct. 12, 2015. The director of JTI welcomed Dr. Ali

Asiri. A meeting was held to discuss the latest de-

velopments in education which will contribute

in raising the efficiency of the Institute. Mr. Ali

Asiri awarded the Scouts of JTI who participated

in Hajj of 2015 and had a special leadership posi-

tion in serving pilgrims. In addition, Engineer Ad-

nan Al Zahrani and Engineer Ahmad Al Amodi

from Petrokemya Company were honored for

their contribution in holding training courses

for JTI employees as part of a cooperative agree-

ment between companies and JTI. fter that, the

GM visited the new buildings for electrical engi-

neering, welding, and chemical workshops. He

discussed the outcomes of those workshops,

which will grant our students a high-level techni-

cal education. Afterward, the GM visited the male

and female branches of Industrial Development

Center and had a discussion with entrepreneurs

and listened to the employees’ opinions, and

then he gave his guidelines on how to enhance

productivity to reach the goals of IDC. Dr. Ali Asiri

thanked JTI and wished the Institute the best.

JTI Held its Advisory Board Meeting The Advisory Board at JTI held its

first and second meeting for its

members. The Advisory Board

consists of officials from the Hu-

man Resources, maintenance

and operation, and training and

development from major In-

dustrial companies in the area.

The meeting began with a pre-

sentation of a short film high-

lights the services that JTI offers.

After that, the meeting orga-

nized workshops to evaluate

the services and to guide the

strategies of JTI in order to align

the future plans of JTI with the

expectations of the Industrial

sector. The meeting discussed

numerous topics including the

services and the specializa-

tions needed in the job market.

In addition, the meeting dis-

cussed how to support the en-

trepreneurs. The members of

the Advisory Board organized

a field trip to learn about the

workshops, the equipment and

the devices at these workshops.

The purpose of the field trip

was to learn about these equip-

ment and devices to suggest

any improvement to the work-

shops. The field trip started at

the Chemical Skills Workshop

in order to see and experience

the skill of operating facto-

ries and the most recent avail-

able laboratories. Moreover,

the members of the Advisory

Board visited the workshops

of electrical and electronic

skills which include many skills

such as industrial electricity, in-

strumentations, machine con-

trol and industrial electronic.

The Advisory Board members

also visited the department of

mechanical skills. This depart-

mechanical skills, the Advisory

Board members viewed and

examined many projects com-

pleted by students at JTI. The

Advisory Board members dis-

cussed possible ways to support

the entrepreneurship and small

projects when they had visited

the Industrial Development

Center. They learned about

how the center supports and

encourages innovative ideas

and entrepreneurs by making

these ideas possible and trans-

form it to real projects. The visit

was an opportunity to discuss

many shared topics through ap-

proval of a memorandum with

the companies, put forward a

form to list the training needs

in technical areas in the Indus-

trial sector, as well as JTI plan

for information technology and

security programs.

The meeting was attended by

companies such as Mr. Saeed

Al-Gahtani, who is a director of

in Africa and the Middle-East,

a representative from SABIC

Company. Mr. Turki Al-Shehri,

who is the director general of

operation, a representative

from Sipchem Company. Mr.

Ibrahim Al-Mishar, who is the

director of Human Resources, a

Petrochemical Company. Mr.

Mubarak Al-Maliki, who is the

director of Human Resources

and the Administrative devel-

Sahara Petrochemical com-

pany. Mr. Abdul-Aziz Bawazeer,

In a cheerful ceremony, the Students Affairs Department harvested the fruits, where they presented to the stu-dents, staff and faculty of the Institute the results of their efforts over a full year; including vigorous efforts and creativity at work by 9 student clubs who made a series of curricular and extracurricular activities and variety of cultural, sports, voluntary and social programs, as well as scientific innovations.The celebration started with verses from the Holy Quran, followed by a visual presentation of the student activi-ties for the year 1436/1437 AH, which included more than 40 programs. After that, the English Language Club presented a speech in English. Following which the sci-entific projects were presented, as follows:

The Crane Project, which is a scientific project pre-•sented by the Mechanics Club. The Fractional Distillation Tower, which is a scientific •project presented by the Chemistry Club.

After that , a group of outstanding students in the Stu-dent Activities provided a distinctive operetta that was applauded and well received by all the guests. This effort reflects the significant role of youth in science, civiliza-tion and progress and rise of the nation in various fields and enhancement of national cohesion between the people and leadership. In conclusion, the sponsor of the ceremony Director of Jubail Technical Institute Eng. Ab-dullah Fahd Al-Huzaim, the Head of Students Affairs De-partment Dr. Saad Awwadh Al-Harbi, and the Supervisor of Student Services honored the trainers and the stu-dents participating in the success of student activities.

Under the guidance and awareness programs of-

fered by the Basic Skills Department at JTI, an im-

portant meeting was held to introduce the differ-

ent skills at JTI in order for students to determine

which specialization they should choose that fits

their inclinations and abilities. The Chairmen of

the different departments delivered a brief ex-

planation about the various specializations in

JTI. They also responded to students' questions

to enable them to obtain prior knowledge about

the course they intend to take up to make it eas-

Wiring Skills Competition 2016“ on Thursday (28

April 2016). The competition was composed of

four teams with two members for each team

A group of 18 students from The Electrical and

Electronics Skills Dept. made an educational

field trip on Sunday (24 April 2016) to SCECO

electrical power plant in Ghazlan. The students

have seen the plant facilities especially the

power distribution system and electrical con-

trol rooms which gave them good insight of

the actual operation of the plant that generates

power which supply electricity nationwide. This

educational tour will give our students a better

perspective in applying what they have learned

at JTI to their future jobs.

Parents of JTI Students Visited the InstituteWithin the programs offered by the Institute ,

Student Housing Unit organized a visit for the

parents of the dwelling students , on 07/07/1437

AH . The visit included identification of the stu-

dents accommodation as well as the recreational

facilities of the Institute such as gyms and courts.

Also , the parents visited the Learning Resources

Center and learned about the services provided

by the Center to the students . Then , they visited

the students' restaurant , in addition to visiting

Firefighting training was conducted by RC Fire

Department on Thursday 20-06-1437H (29-03-

2016). The main objective of training was to cre-

ate awareness on fire safety and to equip every

individual with the basic knowledge of firefight-

ing. The training program also included the prac-

tical session, where liquid fuel fire was created

and the students were made to fight, choosing

the right type of fire extinguisher.

JTI students in crane operation paid a visit to in-

spect the equipment and a training center in

Dammam. They discuss ways of cooperation in the

training of the students to qualify as crane opera-

tor as an international license. Students was offset

by the company's owner and talk to them about

the importance of this specialty in the industrial

sector and also about career opportunities in this

field. Then, the students toured the company's

yard to take a look at the 500-ton cranes and at-

tachments which surprised the students and

about the difficulty and complexity of the opera-

JTI Toastmasters Club made history on 25 March

2016 winning three trophies at the Area level

Speech Contest. The participants demonstrated

their excellent public speaking skills in three cat-

egories of public speaking (Prepared speech, Ta-

ble Topics speech and Humorous speech). There

were 8 contestants in each category representing

4 clubs – SAFCO, Sipchem, Elite and JTI. Commit-

ment, consistent hard work coupled professional

JTI Football League Championship

Out of keenness of Student Services Unit in the

Institute on spreading the spirit of fun, joy and

competition between the students of the Insti-

tute, the Sports Club held the football League

championship. And the final match was played

under the auspices of the Director of Jubail Tech-

nical Institute Eng. Abdullah bin

Fahd Al-Huzeim, and in the pres-

ence of Head of Students Affairs

Department, the Supervisor of

Students Services and a number

of the teaching staff in the Insti-

tute.

The final match witnessed atten-

dance of the students of the Institute who inter-

acted with the course of the match and excelled

in motivating, encouraging and supporting their

colleagues who compete on the championship

trophy, Al-Yabsan and Al-Hazm.

The match ended in victory of Al-Yabsan Team

by penalty shootout, after the original time of

the match ended in positive draw by one goal to

each team, and Al-Hazm Team was the team that

scored first by Azam Benten, and the equalizer

came through Abdul Aziz Al-Butaih.

The player Abdul Aziz Al-Shammari received the

award of the best player in the championship, and

the player Hussam Bernawi received the award

of the championship scorer,

and the player Turki Al-Subaei

received the award of the best

goalkeeper in the champion-

ship.

It is worth mentioning that the

championship lasted for two

held the PlayStation Tourna-

ment in Football for the students

witnessed a huge turnout, but

JTI Mechanical club organized a course in Fire

Protection led by a trainer from basic skills Mr.

Mustafa Safwani for a group of students from me-

chanical department. This course included the

safety during the use of fire extinguishers and

the principles of the basic way of using different

types of fire extinguishers. The students reacted ef-

fectively. Participators were honored in the pres-

ence of HOD, Mechanical Department, and Engr.

Majed AbdulAziz Al Gazaiz. JTI’s Mechanical club

has organized a CPR and first-aid course, taught

by Mustafa Safwani for a group of the club’s stu-

dent-members. The course consisted of a brief

the public health of the students, the Unit held

an anti-smoking campaign for all

students and staff, in cooperation

with the Anti-Smoking Charitable

Association (Purity) , and under

support from the National Indus-

the mobile clinic reached 150.

To encourage and motivate the excellent students,

the basic skills department honored the outstand-

ing students who received not less than 3.5 out of

4 on the last 361 semester. The students worked

very hard in order to get excellent scores, so hap-

piness was seen on their faces. The Director of JTI

and the Head of Basic Skills department honored

the students and appreciated their efforts to get

high marks. In addition, the heads of the other de-

partments and a number of our esteemed instruc-

International Prepared Speech and Table Topics

(impromptu speaking) Contests for its members.

The Area Governor, Mr. Abdulaziz Al-Sharekh, of

pep talk, briefing them on the benefits of regu-

hibition held at King AbdulAziz

Naval Base. It was hosted by

Eastern Fleet Commander from

February 14, 2016 to February

vilion throughout the period of

the exhibition, with distribu-

tion of pamphlets and guides

on safety measures. This is in

addition to firefighting training

using firefighting simulator.

cotics Control in Jubail organized a lecture about

the danger of drugs towards health, psychology,

and community. The lecturer, Mdawi M. Al-Bishi,

presented some pictures and a documentary

video showing the danger of drug addiction. At

the end of the lecture, the lecturer was honored

by JTI Administration.

JTI Sudents Volunteers Start Up the Campaign of (Warm “Dif”)It is a beautiful sense with responsibility towards destitute and

providing assistance for the others hopping the recompense

from Allah. A group of the social team students – Young People

are activeness – is to start up the campaign of (Warm ”Dif“) sup-

ported by the students’ services unit in the institute as it provides

a winter complete bag for the destitutes at Jubail City. A number

of 100 bags were distributed in various places in Jubail City.

orientation and guidance meeting for freshmen

students and started on JTI’s rules and regula-

tion by the Head of Student Affairs Department.

The program included a welcoming word by JTI

Director. Later on, Deputy of Educational and

Training affairs gave a presentation illustrating

first year degree plan, skills and all academic re-

The Students’ Services Unit has taken care in

granting the students the opportunity for rec-

reation and practicing sports, in addition to the

creation of a competitive climate among stu-

dents as the Institute football league with the

playoffs for two weeks were activated greatly.

At the end of the league, the JTI Director at-

tended the final match held between the two

teams Biankoniri and Al-Yabasan as the result

was in favor of the Biankoniri team. The man-

ager of the institute and the supervisor of the

students’ services honored the winner of the

league cup in addition to the honor of the best

football player and goalkeeper.

Pursuant to the words of ”Allah Almighty“ Who-

ever saves a life, it is as though he had saved the

lives of all men , the students and staff of Jubail

Technical Institute rushed to participate in the

blood donation campaign, asking Allah only for

the reward. The campaign witnessed participa-

tion of 107 donor. This Campaign has been or-

ganized by the Students Services Unit and in

cooperation with King Fahd Specialist Hospital

in Dammam.

Out of keenness of the Stu-

dents Service Unit on the

health of the students of the

Institute, and believing that

prevention is better than

cure, coordination and co-

operation have been done

with the Ministry of Health,

Preventive Medicine Department in Jubail so as

to hold a vaccination campaign against season-

al flu for the students and staff of the institute.

Praise be to Allah, the vaccination campaign

managed to vaccinate a number of 618 person.

At the end of the campaign, the physicians and

officers of the campaign were honored by the

Director of Jubail Technical Institute, Eng. Ab-

dullah Fahd Al-Huzaim.

On Thursday, December 17, 2015 the JTI Direc-

tor accompanied by the deputy of education

& training affairs and the head of the mechani-

cal skills department opened a competition to

evaluate students projects. These students are

specializing in welding and expected to gradu-

ate this semester 361. The projects consist of

JTI Welding Students Projects’ Competition

various designs of hanging bridges (Simula-

tion). The hanging bridges are made of metal

wires assembled and welded according to spe-

cific standards from the welding department.

The competition evokes students’ thoughts and

skills. At the end of the competition, the direc-

day 23/12/2015, the Training Course hosted by

JTI for the community over two days which was

and Health Occupation-

al) among the presence

theoretical aspects and

practical application such

as: Prevention and protec-

tion tools, first aid, fire ex-

tinguishing process. This

course comes within the efforts and activities of

the Jubail Technical Institute in the publishing

Ashirat Al-Jawalah Team at the institute has had

a strong desire for the development of its mem-

bers’ abilities and developing the scouting skills

for them. So, Ashirat Al-Jawalah Team partici-

pated with Jubail Technical Institute in a training

course throughout the country (Initial Studies

for the Scouting Leaders) held in the Scouting

Campaign at Riyadh City. The course included

the principles of Scouting, its history, the skills

of nodes, bundles and ropes, types of scouting

fires, in addition to the types of whistles, shouts

and scouting march. All of the participants have

got medals of excellence and certificates of

passing the course.

ing basics led by a trainer from welding Mr. Ab-

The Area Director of Area 63 of the Toastmasters

Fraternity, Mr. Abdulaziz Al-Sharekh, visited JTI

Toastmasters Club on December 9, 2015. He was

given a hospitable reception and a warm wel-

come upon his arrival at the meeting venue. He

sat through the entire meeting witnessing stu-

dent members perform in front of an audience.

The club had a special educational session in

which three members delivered their prepared

speeches based on specific objectives.

The prepared speech session was followed by a

constructive evaluation session in which partic-

ipants received positive feedback on their per-

formances. The Area Director congratulated the

club members for their enthusiastic participa-

tion in a professionally conducted meeting, and

CA, US on JTI TM club status and performance.

The meeting ended with a vote of thanks to

the visiting dignitary and all the members who

made the event a grand success.

because the Students’ Services in the Institute

are interested in the community partnership to

serve the educational environment, it was coor-

A student is to have recreation and fun at his

life; so, to get out of the routine, the students’

launched an open recreation day in a fine night

In recognition of the role of media in making

civilization and rise of community, the Students

Services represented by the Social Club has held

a session in (Filmmak-

ing), which was intro-

duced by the Director:

Ahmed Al-Jamaan

(one of the pioneers

at Industrial Development Center), who spoke

during this session about the theoretical and

applied basics of filmmaking. The session also

included a workshop on the way of writing the

story, in addition to practical explanation about

acting, directing and final montage of films. This

event was well received and appreciated by the

participating students, because of the excite-

ment and suspense of its content, as the number

of the participants was 35 students.

The session lasted for five days, where the par-

ticipating students were honored at the end of

the session by JTI Director and the head of Stu-

dent Affairs.

JTI has launched a campaign for Preventive Driv-

ing titled ”No texting while Driving“ on Tuesday

21/01/1437 H, under the auspices of AL-Farabi

Company and the attendance of both the De-

partment of Traffic of Jubail area, represented by

his Colonel Saud Bin Shouja Al-Otaibi, and the

Program of Health Services of The Royal Com-

mission in Jubail, represented by Mr. Ahmed Bin

Farhan Al-Otaibi. The Campaign was addressed

to the institute students to raise their awareness

of the harms of using phones while driving, in

addition to, providing them with some advice

and methods to deal with emergencies, whether

at home or at work. Also, a visual presentation

has been introduced about the importance of

preventive driving and compliance with the reg-

ulations and traffic laws.

At the end of the campaign ceremony, JTI direc-

tor Eng. Abdullah F. Al-Huzeim presented certifi-

cates of thanks and appreciation to the partici-

Welding skills Instructors from Mechanical Skills

Department at JTI passed international weld-

ing inspection certification (CWI), which enable

them to supervise and certify students and ap-

plicants to be certified welders. Recently JTI was

approved as Accredited Test Facility (ATF) by

American Welding Society (AWS) and three of JTI

students were awarded welding license by AWS:

In a mode of happiness and nice climate, the

student services, represented by the sport

team, have launched the competitions of water

games in the institute’s swimming pool. During

that event, lots of competitions were provided

among students such as free swimming compe-

tition, boat competition and soap playground

competition. There were lots of interactions and

enthusiasm as the JTI Director Eng. Abdullah F.

Al-Huzaim have attended the event and honored

the winners in the competitions.

vided by the students services department, it was

coordinated with Jesco Co. to provide a course in

the First Aids for the students. The course period

was two days including applied presentations

giving benefit for more than 50 stu-

JTI Mechanical club organized a first meeting for

a group of students of Mechanical Department.

The meeting included goals of club and the fu-

ture project. In the end of meeting students are

reacted effectively.

As part of the activities and programs of Student

Services, JTI Mechanical Club organize a visit to

Jesco Co for some students. The trip had many

interactive activities such as safety presentation,

JTI Concluded an agreement with the World Assembly of Muslim Youth

Technical Institute is to expand and broaden the

partnership frameworks with the social agencies

that serve students in their lives and develop

their abilities. From this standpoint, Jubail Tech-

nical Institute concluded an agreement with the

World Assembly of Muslim Youth in Jubail Gov-

ernorate, so that the World Assembly of Muslim

Youth could sponsor some social programs and

activities that serve the student and the commu-

nity. As well as taking advantage of the training

courses provided by the Assembly in the devel-

opment of the students’ skills. The agreement

was signed by the Director of Jubail Technical

Institute Eng. Abdullah bin Fahd Al-Huzeim, and

the Director of Internal Activity in the World As-

sembly of Muslim Youth Eng. Ahmed bin Hussein

Hakmi, in the presence of Student Affairs Depart-

On Sunday 23/08/2015, JTI has conducted an

orientation and guidance meeting for freshmen

students for academic year 2015-2016. The pro-

gram started with a welcoming word by JTI Di-

rector, Eng. Mansour Al-Anazi. Later on, Deputy

of Educational and Training affairs gave a presen-

tation illustrating first year degree plan, skills and

all academic related information. JTI’s rules and

regulation were introduced by Head of Student

Affairs Department. At the end, gifts were distrib-

uted to freshmen students along with the infor-

mation on academic calendar and guidelines.

who specialized in Crane and Forklift on

Thursday 17-9-2015. JTI and Hadeed SABIC

administrators attended the graduation cer-

emony. The Crane and Forklift specialization

is distinctive in the industrial work field. JTI

is supporting in Saudization through imple-

menting this specialization. Hadeed SABIC is

one of the first companies to employ Saudi

nationals in this specialization.

Industrial Development Center (IDC) and

many of IDC entrepreneurs at Jubail Techni-

cal Institute (JTI) participated in an exhibi-

tion of Armed Forces Exhibition for Diversifi-

cation of Local Manufacturing (AFED) 2016,

which organized by Saudi armed forces in

Riyadh international convention and exhibi-

tion center in Riyadh city on 21–27/2/2016.

The aim of participation was to promote

and introduce IDC and incubated projects

services, also to attract Saudi entrepreneurs

who they have industrial ideas. The results of

participations were achieved good results,

Industrial Development Center (IDC) and many

(JTI) participated in an exhibition of Armed Forces

Exhibition for Diversification of Local Manufactur-

ing (AFED) 2016, which organized by Saudi armed

forces in Riyadh international convention and ex-

hibition center in Riyadh city on 21–27/2/2016.

sented by Department of Management & MIS vis-

ited Industrial Development Center IDC at JTI on

22/3/2016. This visit was came to know IDC, IDC

services, incubation program, funding of projects

and the IDC role toward entrepreneurs. In addi-

The Industrial Development Center at JTI presents

a training course to entrepreneurs. The title of the

course was ”Legal Affairs for Commercial Establish-

ments“. The session took place on 17-18/2/1437 H.

The objective of the training is to improve and de-

velop the legal skills of the businessmen and busi-

nesswomen to better manage their businesses.

The training session is a part of the training pro-

gram that the center presents to the incubated

and entrepreneur applicants who want to estab-

lish their own projects in Saudi market.

The session discussed a number of key concepts:

First: The Basic ideas of commercial contracts and

the procurements for the Commercial Establish-

ments.

Industrial Development Centre ”IDC“ at JTI, pre-

sented a training course for entrepreneurs enti-

tled "Basics of start-ups" during the period 31/1–

18/2/2016, Where this training course comes as a

part of IDC program for the pre-incubation phase.

The course provide trainees with skills and knowl-

edge necessary in preparing a Feasibility Study’s

for their projects, and to enable them convert their

ideas to a real businesses in the Saudi market.

The course was focused on:

First: Introduction to IDC, Services and facilities.

Second: Basics of entrepreneurship.

Third: How to prepare a feasibility study, with prac-

tical application.

At the end of this course, IDC Head distributed the

certificates to trainees.

sented a training course to entrepreneurs, titled

”Strategic Planning and Decision Making“ for men

and women sections for one week. Where this

training course comes as a part of IDC programs

for entrepreneurs and incubatees. The course
