The department is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi and approved by AICTE, New Delhi and one of the core departments in the institution. The department is committed to continuously improve the quality of education by enhancing the knowledge of student and staff members. The department has well equipped laboratories having the latest configurations of Computers and software tools with state-of-the-art infrastructure, department library and internet facility, and have a hadoop laboratory, supported by experienced & dedicated staff. The department offers B.E, M.Tech, M.Tech (QIP) programs, conducts soft skills and aptitude training classes, and recognized as a “Research Center” by VTU. The department has MOU with EMC2, Infosys, TCS, and Accure etc. We educate tomorrow’s innovators, conduct cutting- edge research in most of the principle areas of the field, and lead a broad range of multi-disciplinary initiatives that demonstrate the transformative power of computer science and computer engineering. ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

This Workshop titled “Internet of Things (IoT)”

has been designed for Faculty members / Research Scholars /UG & PG Students from Computer Science,

Information science and Electronics and

communication Engineering domain/ discipline. IoT has made a major breakthrough among the

latest technologies, impacting almost all the industrial applications. With its wide offerings and easier

implementation, the IoT industry is emerging as one of

the top technologies in the world and reports state that this technology is going to transform into a multi-

trillion dollar industry by 2020.

So, for students looking for an unconventional career in

new-age technologies, IoT is the best place to start preparing towards future job opportunities.

The objective of event is to provide platform for the

participants to acquire knowledge about IoT.

Workshop Schedule:

Day 1: Session 1

Objective: In this session, you’ll learn about the fundamental OOP concepts of python with examples.

Session 2: Raspberry-Pi IoT Objective: In this session, you’ll develop your knowledge of

simple electronics and computing, setting up your Raspberry

Pi and writing your first program using the Python

programming language.

Day 2: Session 3

Project: Controlling Rpi GPIO using http server.

Objective: This session is regarding the use of http server

library available in python and controlling GPIO pins of Rpi

using the local host.

Session 4 Project: Send Sensor Data on Cloud Server

Objective: In this session, you’ll develop your knowledge on

interfacing sensors with Raspberry pi.

Day 3: Session 5 Project: Home Automation project Using IoT

Objective: Expose students to cloud computing, using

different web-services, use temperature, pressure, altitude and

humidity values to the cloud and control devices using IoT.
