To obtain pure and small YAG:Ce phosphors, traditional solid-state reaction method was necessary to synthesize these powers by high temperature treatment (>1600 °C) for unless 5hr under the flux, such as B2O3, NaF2 and extensive ball milling.
With increase of temperature, YAG was formed gradually and two transition phases, YAP(YAlO3) and YAM (YAl4O9) were reduced.

In our study, we uesd a facile, novel solid-state reaction method to synthesizeYAG:Ce powder under low temperature for short hoding time.
Our study proved that the method was easy and fast to synthesize pure YAG:Ce power .
