WELCOME...
Bound by the scenic beauty of the Sperrin Mountains Strabane rests at the meeting point of three rivers The Mourne, the Finn and the Foyle. It is a town rich in history and heritage – birthplace of John Dunlap, printer of the American Declaration of Independence, as well as Flann O’Brien – one of Ireland’s most famous literary sons.
Here opportunities exist not only to relax and unwind in award winning restaurants, bistros and cafes but also to enjoy a wide selection of fabulous night time and weekend entertainment particularly in the town’s very own theatre, and its clubs and bars.
For some serious retail therapy - as well as finding that perfect treat to suit every taste and every pocket - experience the intimacy of family run businesses alongside familiar high street names.
Options exist also for overnight stays in fabulous high quality accommodation all allowing extra time to take in the many delights of the wider Tyrone & Sperrins region.
Angling, golf, and equestrian breaks can all be found within easy access of Strabane but venture a little further into the Mourne, Glenelly and Derg Valleys to get a true flavour of authentic rural Ulster. Dedicated driving, cycle and walking routes guide you on your journey of discovery taking in a wonderfully scenic landscape rich in heritage and myth.
To the South and East of Strabane are the heather-clad slopes of the Sperrin Mountains. Dominated by romantic landscapes, and rich in history and heritage the Sperrins provides the perfect backdrop to enjoy and experience either a more relaxed pace or life or an adrenalin filled adventure. Gentle walking options, scenic drives, and secluded rivers for angling sit alongside a multitude of more adventurous pursuits including mountain biking, canoeing, off-road driving, zorbing and high wire tree top pursuits.
