Dear Mr. Bosco,
I write to convey my enthusiastic support of the City of Brisbane's grantapplication to purchase approximately six and a half acres on San BrunoMountain.
This land acquisition will serve to protect and restore a natural landmark thatprovides a habitat for several rare plant and animal species. The adjacent lotswill complement over forty acres of the San Bruno Mountain State Park andCounty Park that serve as an important environmental resource for allCalifornians. Expanding the protected habitat on the San Bruno Mountainwill further conserve open land amongst a highly developed area thusbenefiting numerous Bay Area Residents.
I encourage your most affirmative review of this worthy application.
Sincerely,

Re: Support letter for San Bruno Mountain Brisbane Acres grant
Dear Mrs. Jesperson:
I am writing in support of the Brisbane Acres grant to acquire approximalcly 6.5 acres ofSan Bruno Mountain for the preservation and restoration of endangered species habitat.San Bruno Mountain is a regional treasure. The mountain serves as the gateway to thePeninsula and is one of few open space areas left in a highly-developed, highly populatedurban area. Approximately one million people live within 10miles of San BrunoMountain. Recent development now threatens the Mission Blue and the CallippeSilverspot, two precious endangered species. The area that the Conservancy seeks toacquire provides a natural suitable habitat for these two species.
The San Francisco Bay Area Conservancy Program has previously funded a 5.3 acreacquisition by the City of Brisbane, and the San Bruno Mountains were included in thenation's first Habitat Conservation Plan (HCP). The Brisbane Acres grant will further thegoals of previous measures, such as the HCP, taken to preserve the habitat of the SanBruno Mountains. Support for the grant will be a state contribution towards protecting aregional treasure and ensuring its presence for future generations. I urge your support forthe Brisbane Acres grant.
Sincerely,

Dear ML Bosco,I am writing you on behSllfof the 20,000 members of the Lorna Prieta Chapter oftheSierra Club. Our Chapter's geographic area includes San Mateo County home of SanBruno Mountain. The Chapter has had along standing interest in preserving this uniquenatural resource and enthusiastically supports the city of Brisbane's grant application topurchase 6,5 acres of land for permanent protection,
The proposed project would complement the 40.6 acres of protected lands in the BrisbaneAcres acquired by the City since 1998utilizing a combination of California CoastalConservancy funds, US Fish and Wildlife Service Section 6 funds and City of Brisbanefunds, All of the proposed parcels have high biological value due to their high nativeplant species coverage and because each parcel is contiguous with grasslands on SanBruno Mountain that provide habitat for the endangered Mission blue, and Callipp~silverspot butterflies.
I urge you and the Conservancy to continue supporting this worthy project by providing.grant funding.
Thank you. ~

RE: Brisbane Acres parcels acquisition
The City of Brisbane has applied to the California Coastal Conservancy for grantsto acquire Brisbane Acres Lots 7SA, 76, 77, 94, & 97. We heartily endorse itsproposal.
The California Native Plant Society has invested a lot of time in San BrunoMountain to preserve and enhance its extraordinary biological values. Thisinvolvement includes public education, advocacy, and hands-on removal ofinvasive plants. The acquisition of the above-named parcels is urgently desirable,as the habitat quality of these areas is very high, and they are needed to preventhabitat fragmentation.

Dear Mr. Bosco,
The Friends of San Bruno Mountain encourage and support the City of Brisbane in itsefforts to maximize open space by purchasing private lands in the Brisbane Acres. This areaof San Bruno Mountain is rich in endangered butterfly habitat and it is critical that it remainundeveloped so that appropriate corridors remain open and habitat remains connected.
We take this opportunity to thank the Conservancy for its past support of Brisbane'scommitment to ecology and open space. This is quite rare for a municipality and it deservesour utmost respect and admiration.
