What does this mean for young people?

• Young people are in a possibly unique situation:• For many young people – social networking is the ‘norm’• Therefore they often have the skills and attitudes that

business is looking for:• Collaborate; share; network; online dialogue; use technology

• These skills are an important asset for the modern workplace• Young people can come into the workplace with something

valuable to offer• They can exploit these skills to market themselves, to connect

with colleagues, to learn faster, to ‘fit in’ more easily

• But… there are differences between social networking in the consumer & corporate worlds
