Exciting times for Careline as it joins PPP Taking Care Dear Customer, We’re writing to tell you about some exciting developments to our Chichester Careline service and the opportunities that it will offer our customers in the future. Over the past thirty five years, Chichester Careline has assisted over one million people to live safely and independently in their own homes. In fact, it was one of the first monitoring centres in the country dedicated to providing people with telecare services. We are very proud of our Careline service and the difference it makes. Over the past few years we have been looking at ways to build on the outstanding work that is delivered by the service, so that we can continue to offer our customers the very best care and opportunities. As part of this work, we have been working closely with PPP Taking Care, a leading telecare provider with over thirty years’ experience. The company is part of AXA PPP healthcare who have been protecting their members’ health for nearly 80 years. AXA PPP healthcare are specialists in helping people understand their health and access the best possible care. PPP Taking Care also manages Age UK’s personal alarm service, which supports over 52,000 people in the UK. They believe that everyone should have the support to remain independent and live life well in their own home. Technological advancements and opportunities - as well as the growing needs and expectations of our customers - mean that we need to significantly invest in our Careline service. In order to achieve this, we are proposing to transfer the service to PPP Taking Care on 1 March 2019. On this date, your contract with Chichester District Council will be transferred to PPP Taking Care, but the cost and service you receive will remain exactly the same. This means that our service will benefit from significant investment and will help us to further expand the services that we can offer you. We have worked alongside PPP Taking Care for some time and so we are very confident that they will take Careline forward and build on what the service has already achieved. It is important to stress that the service you receive will not change. The cost will stay the same and you will continue to be assisted by the same ‘Careline team’ based in Chichester. You and your family will also be able to access even more services, providing even greater peace of mind. PPP Taking Care is also offering you access to their 3 in 1 service at no extra charge because you are one of our valued customers. You can find more about this on page 4. When will the change take place?It is proposed that Chichester Careline will join PPP Taking Care on 1 March 2019.

Will this affect the price I currently pay?No. Your price and the service you receive will stay exactly the same.

What will happen to the staff at Careline?The team that currently runs your Careline service will continue to support you, in exactly the way they do now.

Will the centre continue to operate 24 hours?Yes. The centre will run exactly as it does now – 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Why have you made this change?We are very proud of our Careline service and the difference it makes to you and the rest of our customers. Over the past few years we have been looking at ways to build on the outstanding work that is delivered by the service. The proposed transfer to PPP Taking Care means that Chichester Careline will benefit from significant investment and further expand its position in the telecare market.

Careline operates in a highly progressive market. Technological advancements and opportunities - as well as the growing needs and expectations of our customers - mean that significant investment is required. We have worked alongside PPP Taking Care for some time and so we are very confident that they are the right company to take Careline forward and build on what the service has already achieved.

What further benefits will this new partnership bring?PPP Taking Care plans to invest in the centre and expand on what Careline currently offers its customers. For example, PPP Taking Care offers a medical support and medication helpline, safe home assessments, a wellbeing check service and case management service. PPP Taking Care constantly researches the market and emerging technologies to offer imaginative solutions. The proposed transfer

to PPP Taking Care will provide our customers with even more services to help keep them in the home that they love.

Why did you choose to work with PPP Taking Care?We have been working alongside them for some time and have been impressed with the level of service they provide their customers. We believe that they are the perfect fit for Careline.

Will Careline still be based in Chichester?Yes. The Careline team will continue to be based in Florence Road in Chichester.

What will happen from 1 March?Our service to you will remain exactly the same. You don’t need to do anything.

Our company is a subsidiary of AXA PPP healthcare, a leading UK private healthcare company with over 80 years’ experience in providing healthcare products and services. In 2016, AXA PPP healthcare acquired the Aid-Call monitoring centre, the provider of Age UK Personal Alarm service, to become the trusted partner that enables people to live life well and to the full – whatever their age.

In 2017, we became known as PPP Taking Care and now have around 150 staff working for us. Each one is carefully chosen for their caring and professional manner and make us who we are.
