Page 13: sbitmba.weebly.comsbitmba.weebly.com/uploads/6/7/5/9/6759833/interview.…  · Web viewActual Interview Question Asked In Various MNC’s Recruitment CommonFor. B.E. / B.TECH / MBA

of a time when you worked hard?" Answer: My Soft Skills Coordinator had a really important project, and it didn't look like we were going to make the deadline. I volunteered to do some late nights and weekends. I and my two other coworkers worked seven straight days with no time off. My piece of the project was to coordinate all the information and enter the data. It was a real team effort, but we were able to meet the deadline, and that made my Sir look good. He rewarded us all of our efforts.

Q.2: "Tell me about a time when you had a disagreement or confrontation with your coworker." Answer: There was a coworker who was taking extra time off at lunch and giving me a problem because I was his backup in our team. Rather than let it fester, I asked him if we could talk after work. I explained to him in a no accusing manner that there was a problem. He told me that he had been trying to accomplish personal tasks at lunch that were taking longer than expected and that he would stop doing that. He hadn't thought about the impact it was having on my work. Things changed for the better after our discussion.

Q.3: "What was the most difficult problem you've handled? How did you deal with it?" Answer:It was our end-term and we were behind schedule. We only had two weeks left before the deadline. I stepped up and gathered the team members to talk about the situation. We brainstormed some ideas about how we could meet the project’s deadline. One of my ideas was to divide the project into specific pieces, which isn't the way it was done before. Each person was in charge of a section. I made sure everyone stayed on track by checking with all of them every evening before the close of business. It was a remarkable effort, but we were able to come in under deadline.

Q.4: "Can you give me an example of working in a fast-paced environment?" Answer: When I was a support person during my project training, there was one time when we had to get everything ready for a case and were short-staffed because one of the other support persons was out ill. I took on the responsibility of coordinating all the reports. The first thing I did was sit down with the Head – Projects involved and ask them to give me an idea of the priorities that they needed to complete their part of the project. I then put together a task spreadsheet and worked with everyone to keep on track. We worked late into the night: 2:00 A.M. Instead of being tired, I felt energized throughout the experience. It was really rewarding when we finished the last task and made the deadline. Everyone was really surprised at how smoothly it went with all the obstacles I had to work around. I received a nice reward for my efforts.

Q.5: "Have you been able to sell your boss on a new idea? How did you do it?" Answer:

Page 14: sbitmba.weebly.comsbitmba.weebly.com/uploads/6/7/5/9/6759833/interview.…  · Web viewActual Interview Question Asked In Various MNC’s Recruitment CommonFor. B.E. / B.TECH / MBA

I determined a need to market my IIE program by using a different strategy. I met with my Head – CRD to convince him of my ideas and he reluctantly gave me the go-ahead. I then met with the editorial, creative, and media departments. Working together, we planned media exposure, including TV, radio, print, newspaper, and interactive. We also put together a direct mail campaign. I calculated expenses and return on investment and presented it to my head for approval. I really surprised him with the numbers and my estimated 30 percent return on investment. He gave a "thumbs-up" to proceed with the project.
