Ways to show a number:
Expanded form:
A way to write a number that shows the place value of each digit
Ex. 9,000 + 300 + 20 + 5
Standard form: 9,325
Word form: A way to write a number using words
Ex. nine thousand, three hundred twenty five

Converting between expanded and standard form:

This way you will always remember to put a zero to hold a place (No hundreds in ex.)

Count the places in the largest value ex. 20,000 5 places
