DryCryogeniccouplingsconsistofatankunitoradapterwithaspringloadedpoppetandahoseunitorcouplerwithavalvedrivenbyaninternalcam.Tocouple,simplyaligntherollersonthecouplerwiththenotchesontheadapter,pushthecouplerontotheadapterandrotatepast100degrees.Thissimpleprocesslocksthecouplingtogether,createsaself-sealandopenstheinternalvalvesforfullflowwithlowpressuredrop.Theduelpoppetdesignshut-offmechanismsafelysealsliquidsandgasesbehindthevalveeliminatingfugitiveemissionsandthedangerofaspillofcryogenicfluids.

How It Works
Thesafetybreak-awayvalveconsistsoftwohalves,eachwithavalvethathasanO-ringseal.
WhentheCBCcouplingsseparate,itallowsthevalvestoclose.Thetwovalvescloserapidly,minimizingexposuretopersonnelandtheenvironment.
TheCBCcouplingshavethreeexternalbreakbolts.Inthecaseofaxialtensionalloftheboltstakeuptheforcecorrespondingtothebreakforceonthehosewithasafetymargin.
Non-axialforcesconcentratethetensionforcesmorestronglyononebolt,sothatthesafetybreak-awaycouplingreactsinanaturalwaytothereductionofthehosebreakforces.
