Natural disasters like earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and floods tend to change the physical features of the land rapidly while wind, rain, and rivers wear away the soil slowly.

Rich soil, forest, oil, and coal are all resources available to these two countries. Probably the most important factor in both countries is its availability of water. This has shaped an industry in agriculture and ranching and helped to feed the people of both areas. The water has assisted in travel and trade as well.

Neighbors and Leaders: The United States and Canada have had a great relationship over the years that has helped both countries in trade and defense.
