Another year of ministry for the Singing Men of East Texas has come to a close. What a great year it was! We had some tremendous times of worship in some truly wonderful churches in East Texas. We enjoyed some of the best fellowship I can imagine and laughed a lot! One of the highlights was our joint concert with the South East Singing Men in April in Madisonville - what a night that was! And now we are looking forward to an even greater year in 2018-19. We have some wonderful churches across our area of the state where we will be singing as well as another joint concert with the SMOSET, and of course, our Singing Men of Texas mission trip to New York City in October. Let me say a word of thanks to our officers who have done such a great job this past year. Thank you, Trey McKee for your leadership this year. I'm looking forward to a new year with our new President Larry Dodd and Vice President Mark Taylor. I'm also thrilled that we have selected an assistant director, Andre Simon, and look forward to working with him in the coming days. Andre is already at work helping with the selection of new music for next year. Speaking of which, I hope to see you at Forest Home Baptist Church on Thursday, August 2 at 10:00 a.m. for our annual rehearsal day. This year, we'll rehearse in the morning, break for lunch (on your own) at 11:30 a.m. and then return to the church to finish our rehearsal of the new music at 1:00 p.m. Following that, we'll have about an hour of rehearsal for the New York City trip finishing the day by 3:30 p.m. Please bring your NYC mission trip music with you for that rehearsal. I'm excited about the possibilities that lay in store for the new year - first stop, Calvary Baptist Church in Longview on September 13! Keith 1 “The church that can't worship must be entertained.
