Borsa Vini 2018
Dear Guests,
It is an honour to welcome you to the Borsa Vini Italiani 2018, Stockholm edition.
This year edition is dedicated to the great Italian wines, represented here today by companies coming from seventeen Italian Regions. It is an excellent cluster of high quality producers, most of them medium sized companies, with a great history of family involvement. The production of their wines comes from autochthone vineyards that are more and more appreciated both in Italy and on international markets, reflecting the peculiarity of the soil where the grapes are grown and the abilities of generations of passionate wine producers.
These seventeen Regions altogether represent the majority of Italian wine-production and a good portion of Italian exports in this sector, where Italy is the leading country with an amount of 20,1 million hectares sold abroad, generating 6 billion Euro, according to the last figures available.
In this positive scenario the institutional role is to encourage consumers to look for quality and producers to increase their effort for excellence. This is the purpose of Borsa Vini Italiani, where guests can meet producers and have the possibilities to taste the rich variety of the Italian terroir.

For five generations the Morando family has been producing wine in Vignale Monferrato. Today Silvio Morando and his wife Tiziana, both oenologists and heart passioned growers, run the estate covering 15 hectares of specialized vineyards. Opting for quality rather than quantity, as a real conscious choice the harvest is now all organic certified. Morando aim at quality is very rigorous, especially regarding the care of grapes according to the philosophy that a great wine comes first in vineyard. in September careful hand-selected harvesting takes place in the sloping and well exposed vineyard.

La Biòca is a small winery in the Langhe zone. Our vineyards are situated in the villages of Monforte d’Alba, Novello, La Morra, Barbaresco, Roddino. The most of the 16,5 ha under vines are of our property, 9,1 ha of them now in production. Around 7.4 ha have been recently purchased in the commune of Roddino and will be planted over the next two years.The word "biòca" comes from the Piedmont’s dialect and is used to describe a decisive person often with a "tough head", just like us that with all our ambitions make our best to express the excellence of this land through the wines we make.

Located in San Canzian d’Isonzo in the province of Gorizia, the winery spreads 90 hectares of vineyards. At the beginning of the 70s the properties were made up of a farmhouse and 5 hectares of land. With professionalism and a great passion, Severino Lorenzon, and later his son Enzo, have made it one of the most beautiful wineries in the Isonzo area. Today, it is run by Enzo and his sons: Davide, who manages the cellar and Nicola who deals with the administration. Together, they have impressed quality chances both in the vineyard as well as in the modern cellar.

Our winery is located in Friuli, a region north-east of Italy. The heir of legacy, handed down from father to son for four generations, is today Roberto Vitas, who has been managing the estate over the last 20 years. To guarantee a strict control over the whole production process, entirely family-managed, any operation is carried out in the estate, from the grape growing to the wine bottling. The nearness of the sea creates a perfect microclimate for vine-growing: it tempers winter temperatures and reduces summer humidity through a constant wind circulation.

For four generation the De Stefani family has had the passion for grape vine growing and the art for producing wines with a rare personality. Our grapes grow in the “Caranto” soil, considered by the grapes scientists one of the best for viticulture. It is a special combination of clay, silt and minerals of the Dolomite’s rocks. Castello di Querceto is about 7 kilometres far from Greve in Chianti, at about 470 metres above sea level. Its land extends over 190 hectares: 60 are planted with vineyards, 5 with olive trees while the remaining are woods, mostly of oak and chestnut trees. in the bottom of the valley there is a little fishing lake.The vineyards and the olive-groves are located between 400 and 530 metres above sea level; for this reason they are considered high-hill fields.

The Fattoria di Rietine is a small privately-owned vineyard with 12 hectares of vines. Mario Gaffuri and Galina Lazarides bought this dilapidated mass-production winery in 1988/89 and came here to make wines in 1992. Mario makes the wines himself. We have an advising onologe who gives him technical advice but the palate is Mario's- a very big advantage, he makes personal, character wines, not fashion wines. The grape harvest is all manual as is all work done to the vines. The whole vineyard has been totally renewed and is now in full production.

After studying the best traditional wine-making techniques we understood that the real problem of wine was the use of sulphites. We analyzed the stages in which these chemicals are used and, we designed and realized technologic solutions at the cutting edge, to making wine without adding sulphites. The wine farm Azienda Nicola di Sipio is located in Abruzzo, Italy.The winery stands on a 70 hectare estate along with the vineyards, olive groves and wheat fields watered by a nearby natural lake.
