8 institution from 6 countries:•P1 Sirma Solutions (BG)•P2 ICCF (BG)•P3 Stockholm University, Learning Resource
Centre Lärum (SE)• P4 Polo Europeo della Conoscenza / IC Lorenzi (IT)• P5 Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, CRATOS
(IT)• P6 Université de Strasbourg (FR)• P7 Rēzeknes Augstskola (LV)• P8 CENTRUM KSZTAłCENIA USTAWICZNEGO (PL)
The objective of the eSIMTRA project is to produce web-based interactive simulation environment (ISE)… • grounded on the achievements in pedagogy and
psycho-pedagogy and cutting edge ICT;• intended to provide opportunities for training on
practical handling of communication problems in situations of children-children or children-adult interaction with the view of avoiding conflicts and aggression and creation of supportive environment for development of the children’s interpersonal skills
pedagogy students in training In-service teachers in pre-school and primary
school non-pedagogic staff, trainers and tutors in institutions that provide
informal education for children in pre-school and in early school age
parents youth leaders…
…interested in the topics of violence prevention and behavioral dynamics; motivated to learn to understand children’s reactions and to communicate effectively with the youngsters
Interactive environment• Methodology base which will integrate the
expertise of the pedagogical practice and psychological and psycho-pedagogical science in the partner countries
• Psycho-pedagogical contents (simulated situations) organized in “simulation sets”
• Assessment & feedback instruments• Module for experts’ communication• Training Module (for distance training)
Training Course
Project web-site (outcome by default) Dissemination leaflets: 1000 copies per
country Radio broadcasts: (2 programs, each
one in 3 languages: EN, DE, ES) eSIMTRA e-Newsletter (EN) Local demonstration sessions
1 January 2010 – 31 December 2011
Why these dates are important?• All project activities must be completed in
this timeframe;• All documents that justify eligible project costs must be dated in this period (in few cases payments related to project activities might be executed within the month that follows the last month from the project implementation, but invoices must be dated before till 31 Dec.2011)
People engaged in the project management: Local project coordinator (contact person), decision-maker, accountant, PAS… are forming the Project Administration Unit in each country
Project experts… as many as necessary for accomplishing of the project work: statutory or temporary staff => Local Experts' Team (LETs)…their work is measured in (and limited by) the provisioned persons’ days…
Our project workload is organized in Workpackages
• WP1 MAN Project management and coordination (P2, BG)
• WP2 DEV Methodology and contents (P7, LV)• WP3 DEV Elaboration of the simulation environment
(P1, BG)• WP4 DEV Training Course Program (P8, PL)• WP5 QA Approbation and assessment of the
simulation environment (P5, IT2)• WP6 QA Quality assurance (P2, BG)• WP7 DIS Project dissemination (P4, IT1)• WP8 EXP Exploitation strategy (P1, BG)
Aim: building the methodology base of the simulation environment
The result of the experts’ work will be: • defining the precise thematic clusters around which the
separate training modules of the multimedia environment will be organized
• the number of simulation sets in each cluster • definition of the difficulty levels • choosing the evaluation approaches and the feedback to be
provided to the trainee• Writing scenarios and dialogues for each simulation set
Each scenario will have different variants that would correspond to different types of adults’ behavior and hence would lead to different developments of the situation (e.g. solving, aggravation, retaliation, mediation).
Deliverables:• D9: Initial study of current practices (pedagogical
practice and psycho-pedagogical science and training in the partner countries)
• D10: Needs assessment and analysis (within the representatives of the short-term project target groups: 30 persons per country)
• D12: Methodology base (integrated presentation of the pedagogical practice and psychological and psycho-pedagogical science in the partner countries)
• D13: Simulation sets content–topics and scenarios Estimated: 7 clusters Minimum 2 modules per cluster; estimated: 20 prototypes Simulation sets: 2-4 per module; estimated: 60 situations
Milestone discussions at 1PM, 2PM (SE, Jun.2010)
Ready: Autumn 2010
Steps:– analysis of the requirements & choosing the appropriate technology
solutions;– architectural design of the platform functionalities;– definition of user interfaces –navigation, menus and controls,
additional options;– animation of some scenes (partial animation to be combined with
static graphics);– sound recording of dialogues, and sounds for the ISE;– incorporation of the graphic elements, animated scenes and audio
features; – SW development of the web platform’s prototype (in EN);– SW development of feedback & recommendations module to the
end-users;– in-build help support for the end-users (in EN);– translation in all partners’ languages (BG, SE, IT, FR, PL, LV) incl.
sound recording of dialogues in partners’ languages;– SW development of the training module of the ISE (for carrying out
guided trainings)
Deliverables:• D14: ISE prototype (due Oct.2010)• D17: ISE - module for experts communication:
developed for the needs of the project collaboration to facilitate & enhance the communication between project’s experts (due Oct.2010)
• D16: ISE - feedback module: to provide information to the ISE users for their performance & behavioral profile; will register the user’s entry/exit levels, (due Jul.2011)
• D18: ISE final version (due Aug.2011) Milestone discussions at 2PM (SE,
Jun.2010), 3PM (PL, Nov.2010)
