Save the Date!
Just a reminder that our first parent workshop is
scheduled for April 6th at 7pm in the library, and will
be run by Louise Galanos, a local counsellor &
well-being consultant. This is the first of a series of
workshops looking at building children’s emotional
maturity and looking at resilience, emotional
regulation & readiness to learn. We hope to see
you there.
Governing Council
The Tanunda Primary School Annual General
Meeting was held last night. The AGM provides an
opportunity for the principal and governing council
chair to share information about the school’s
progress over the past 12 months, and enables the
election of a new Governing Council. A copy of
the 2019 Annual Report was tabled and approved
at the meeting, and has been uploaded to our
website. Hard copies of the Annual Report are also
available from the front office on request.
There were three parents whose term on council
had ended, and who have stepped down. These
are Lauren Schmidt, Josie Zander,& Susie Farley. I
would like to acknowledge the invaluable
contribution that these parents have made to our
school community over a number of years,
particularly in relation to fundraising, our uniform
shop and grounds redevelopment projects. Thank
you all so much – we will miss working with you and
extend our sincere thanks for dedication and hard
work.
Our 2020 Governing Council consists of the
following parent representatives:

It feels like the term is flying by and it has a busy
fortnight since the last newsletter. Many thanks to
all our families for their attendance at our Parent/
Teacher interviews and to the staff who
conducted over 400 interviews during the week.
Our new “Parents at Tanunda” group met for the
first time last week, to discuss different fundraising
and school event ideas. The “PAT” team have
proposed a number of different activities for this
year, and will meet again on Wednesday March

COMMUNITY NEWS
Bread Tags
Last year we collected well over 15,000 bread
tags to support ‘Bread Tags for Wheel-
chairs’. 'Bread Tags for Wheelchairs' has been running in
South Africa since 2006. The organisation collects
bread tags which a plastics company, Zibo, buys for a
small amount per kilo. The tags are then recycled and
the proceeds are used to provide wheelchairs for the
needy. Our class is collecting again! Please collect your bread
tags and send them to school with your child and
place them in the plastic bin located in the art room by
Mrs Clark's and Mrs Parson's class - Room 12. Looking forward to seeing how many we get this year!
