Vanguard: Outreach and Evangelization A spiritual outreach group of publicly active members and auxiliary members. Guided by a Spiritual Director, this assemblage engages in monthly organizational meetings focused on highlighting activities of parish organizations and groups to strengthen and build evangelization efforts within the parish and the wider community. Publicly active members engage in evangelization efforts, daily prayer, and event organization. Auxiliary members dedicate themselves to prayer, Mass intentions, and Holy Hours. All members of this committee seek, in charity, to strengthen, build upon, and encourage the spiritual life of all individuals. The next meeting will be Friday, August 9th at 6:30 pm in the Parish Center. Please consider joining us.

Eucharistic Adoration

Quo Vadis Camp The Office of Priest Vocations annual Quo Vadis Camp for high school aged young men will be held at Mount Saint Mary’s Seminary July 28-31, 2019. For four days, high-school-aged young men who desire to grow in holiness will have an opportunity for Mass, prayer, and Eucharistic adoration, as well time for fraternity, sports, and reflection. PARENTS AND KIDS –VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL (VBS) just

ended this past Friday. A great time was had by all the LAMBS in the parish. I want to say to all those who helped support VBS, who gave their time and effort to be there and to make sure everyone was well cared for, ‘THANK YOU’ FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART. BTW, when you see Mandy Helwig and her Mom, Lucy Caton, give them a BIG HUG. They poured their HEARTS and SOULS into every day bringing our LAMBS to Jesus.

2019-2020 FAITH FORMATION REGISTRATION has begun.

Mother Catherine Academy Events • Open House will be held on Sunday, August 11th from 1:00 pm –

3:00 pm.

• First day of school for students is Tuesday, August 27th. The students will be dismissed at 1:00 pm.

• MCA Annual Auction & Social Event will be held on Friday, September 6th. If you would like to donate gift cards, new or gently used items, artwork, event tickets (concerts, sporting events), handmade or homemade items, alcoholic beverages (bottle of liquor, wine or case of beer), cash or if you would like tickets to attend, please call the school. All proceeds go to MCA. There will be appetizers, open bar, full dinner, dessert dash, lots of fun with our silent and live auctions - this year's theme 'Anchors Aweigh in the Chesapeake Bay'. Any family who donates an item valued at $25 or greater will be entered into a drawing for a pair of free auction tickets ($150 value). Intercessory Prayer Join others for intercessory prayer on Tuesday evenings at 7:00 pm in the Parish Center.

Mass Intentions Have you ever wanted to do something special for a family member or a friend? Consider having one of our regularly scheduled Masses said for someone, living or deceased. Contact the rectory if you are interested in scheduling a Mass. Typically, a donation goes with the request – a typical donation is $10.

Rosary The rosary is prayed at the following times:

• First Sunday of the month – 30 minutes before each Mass.

• Every Saturday – 30 minutes before the 4 pm Mass.

• First Saturday of the month – 30 minutes before the 9:00 am Mass.

• Every Wednesday – immediately following the 7:30 am Mass.

• Theology Over Dinner will take place on Thursday, July 25th at Ye Old Town Cafe, Leonardtown, MD. Dinner will begin at 6:00 pm, and newly ordained Deacon Stefan Yap will share his journey to the priesthood beginning at 7:00 pm.

• Celebrate the Feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola on Sunday, July 28th. There will be a tour of St. Ignatius, Chapel Point at 12:00 noon, followed by Mass at 1:00 pm at St. Ignatius, Chapel Point.
