・IT and electronics manufacturers will need to move beyond simply making things to connect with other industries and use cutting-edge technologies to provide valuable services to all people and contribute to social development.
Development ofprivate companies
Creating New SocietyHuman Centric Solution oriented
JEITA ‘s new market creation initiatives:Developing Smart homesIf society is the aggregation of human enterprise, the very heart of that enterprise is the home. The home is the most important foundation of society. Change home and Change society.

Change society from the smart home as the nexus for a whole range of services
➢ Build smart homes as platforms for
new social services that are tailored
specifically to the wishes and
circumstances of home-dwellers.
➢ For a safe and secure
society,ensuring the product safety
and security that underpin is needed
JEITA’s ambition is for the public and private sector to work together to rebuild Japanese society on the platform of smart homes.

About SECOM
Good Example for making fusion of Physical and Cyber
What is particular characteristics and risks of smart home?
⇒ Given these characteristics, conventional cybersecurity measures will be insufficient for the purposes of building a new social system, and we need to consider new frameworks.
① Massive number of targets(Japan has 53 million households, total population is 127M)
② Vulnerabilities arising from the absence of management✓ limited capacity to check on the adequacy of selection✓ installation ✓ Maintenance✓ destruction
③ Unforeseen incidents arising from insufficient user capability

DataIn order to ensure security in “Society5.0”, a new perspective different from the conventional one is necessary.
Formulation of “The Cyber/Physical Security Framework”
• In “Society5.0”, the structure of the supply chain changes to more flexible and dynamic “Value Creation Process”, including data distribution and data utilization.

• A society integrating cyber/physical spaces has complex risk points
• Layers’ approach would be good to control complicated risks
• Each layer has a unique role to protect specific values for trustworthiness

Realizing Society5.0:the cyber-physical security framework ②~ three layers’ approach ~
The First Layer(generally imaged “Supply Chain”)
• Trust of each organization based on appropriate management
The Third Layer(Data circulation)
• Trust of data that freely circulate and are processed or created to produce services
The Second Layer(Cyber to physical/Physical to cyber)
• Trust of function for “correct transcription” from cyber to physical / from physical to cyber form

Conclusion
・Given Japan’s graying of society, social reform is urgently needed =Society5.0
・Society 5.0 will be service-centric, and “smart homes” will offer various services as the
nexus of people’s daily activities.
・JEITA is pursuing the development of smart homes from a cross-industry perspective
with the aim of using smart homes to change Japanese society.
・The most critical element in connecting different industries will be to ensure mutual
trust
・Japan is currently pursuing a new policy called the cyber-physical security framework to
build that trust.
・We are launching an all-out, coordinated effort to realize safe, reliable, convenient and
comfortable smart homes and build a safe and affluent future for Japan.
