DAY02 Arrival in Auckland On arrival in Auckland, you will be transferred to your hotel. You are free to explore “The City of Sails” after check-in to the hotel. DAY03 Auckland Waitomo Rotorua This tour enables you to visit the Waitomo Glowworm Caves World renowned and a magnet for both local and overseas visitors, the Waitomo Glowworm Caves occupy a high placing in almost everyones New Zealand vacation wish-list. The Waitomo glowworm, Arachnocampa luminosa, is unique to New Zealand. Thousands of these tiny creatures radiate their unmistakable luminescent light as our expert guides provide informative commentary on the Caves' historical and geological significance. Over your 45 minute guided tour, you'll take in the spectacular Glowworm Cave with its majestic and ornate cave decorations, the deep limestone shaft known as the Tomo and the equally magnificent Cathedral cavern where New Zealands own opera diva Kiri Te Kanawa once performed. Your tour guide will deliver an informative and entertaining commentary, sharing stories, cultural legends and the natural wonders of this living masterpiece. Your visit concludes with a brief, yet remarkably moving, boat trip through the Glowworm Grotto. Hotel: Sudima or similar DAY04 Rotorua in a day Starting at 8.30 am, we leave Rotorua City via Highway 5, heading to our first wonder, the world famous Waiotapu Thermal Wonder with its Champagne Pool, Lady Knox Geyser & the worlds largest Mud Lake. From return to Rotorua city to enjoy a tasty & relaxing lunch at one of Rotorua’s numerous cafes. Time to chat before heading off to stunning Te Puia. New Zealand’s Maori Arts & crafts centre with, more breathtaking thermal activity and geysers as well as an insight into Maori culture at its best. From here we visit the Agrodome, another world famous attraction. After a fun filled show you can spend time with the sheep, lambs & dogs. An opportunity to get an insight into New Zealand farm life. Then its on to Rainbow Springs where we experience exquisite bush walks through a bird aviary and natural spring abundant with Trout. You may even get to see a live Kiwi. DAY05 Rotorua Bay of Plenty in a day Starting at 9 am heading along the scenic Highway to Paengaroa. Longridge Park Fun, thrills and fascination. Visit a working Kiwifruit orchard, travel through lush avocado, pine and nut plant plantations, hand feed the animals and see tame eels. Time is allowed for any thrill seekers to take a ride on the Longridge Jet Boat (optional). Next stop is Kiwifruit Country where we board the Kiwifruit train and ride through the famous orchard, including a packhouse where fruit is packed for export. There is time allowed for any young at head, travelers to visit the Magic Castle. Fun for all ages. On towards Mount Manganui for buffet lunch at a local hotel. Time to relax & chat about the morning & plan for the afternoon. At this point the travelers booked on the extravaganza will be taken to airport where their flight (optional) for White Island OPTIONAL RATES ON request & booking must be made during the reservation. Everyone else will have free time to shop or go for a swim in the Pacific Ocean, with a choice of hot or cold water. A stroll along our wonderful beach or a short hike around the Mount are also favourites. The way back to Rotorua is via the Harbour Bridge taking in the city highlights of Tauranga. We will arrive back in Rotorua at approximately 5 pm. DAY06 Rotorua Waimangu Tours At Waimangu Volcanic Valley you will find wonderful geothermal and volcanic features on your guided walk through regenerating native bush. Frying Pan Lake is the World’s largest hot water spring. Amazing Inferno Crater’s blue lake has a powerful geyser -like cycle and a mysterious interaction with Frying Pan Lake. The Lake Rotomahana Boat Cruise takes you close to steaming cliffs, gushing hot springs and across the sites of the destroyed Pink and White Terraces. Rotomahana is a wildlife sanctuary, home to many species of native and exotic birds. Walk across uninhabited Te Ariki Ithmus, where many perished during the 1886 Eruption and the scene of a year long land war, between Maori, in the 1850’s. On your boat cruise across beautiful Lake Tarawera your skipper will entertain you with the facts and legends surrounding the Eruption and the Pink and White Terraces. Then visit the prehistoric Maori rock paintings at Tarawera landing. The Buried Village is a snap shot of early colonial life, frozen in time on 10th June 1886. The associated Museum of Te Wairoa will complete your insight into the most significant natural, social and cultural event in Rotorua’s history, and it is an easy walk through the excavat ed village. On our journey back to Rotorua we will stop at the beautiful Blue and Green Lakes. Their tranquility hides an amazing history! Finally, EITHER relax at the end of your day in the luxury of Polynesian Spa’s public pools or Priest’s Spa . DAY07 Rotorua Napier You will be travel east along Thermal Highway to Art Deco City, Napier. As in our popular "Wine Experience" we visit three of the most highly acclaimed wineries. Tour New Zealand's oldest winery, learn the history and wine tasting. Take a tour of New Zealand's only wine museum, tour the winery, followed by wine tasting. Visit a Gimblett Gravel Winery producing high quality wines, learn about the Gravels. Then return back towards Napier via scenic Roads, and finish at...... The final visit for the day, is at the Ale and Cider House. As a tasting venue, the Filter Room is a groundbreaker, offering imaginatively conceived presentations. A $9 tasting tray lets visitors make their own six-taste selection, combining beers and ciders if so-wished. Highlights include Tongariro National Park and the Raurimu Spiral, an amazing feat of railway engineering.
