PE Transducer-Controlled Pulse Tools

Stanley pulse and impact tools reduce the torque reaction allowing hand fastening without reaction devices for torque levels as high as 700 Nm on Pistol tools and 70 Nm on straight tools.

For transducer-controlled pulse tools, the PSI-C controller monitors the dynamic torque at the joint and stops the tool at the target torque level. A unique pressure control method reduces torque variability as compared to use with line pressure.

The PSI-Qc Qualifier enables tool shutoff with superior torque control that improves quality and reduces cycle time.

The PSI-Qc compares the fastening cycle to a stored optimal signature that stops the air supply to the tool at the cycle end point. Time is not wasted while the tool stalls in a traditional non-shutoff application.

STRAIGhTStraight and pistol handle tools fit applications with direct access to the fastener. Multiple spindle fixtured straight tools use retractable spindles to help engage the spindles on the job. Offset spindles enable assembly of tight bolt centers.

FLUSh ANGLEFlush angle tools can access vertical spaces 50% lower than standard angle tools.

CROwFOOTCrowfoot nutrunners have a range of sizes and torque levels to access fasteners in unique, hard to reach applications.

TUbENUTTubenut nutrunners have open sockets that enable the tool end to be put over a tube, hose, or other tubular connection to secure a fitting.

hOLd & dRIvEHold and drive tools simultaneously hold the bolt while the nut is tightened. A formed end on the bolt interfaces with a mating tang or bit to prevent bolt rotation.

Under this lifetime limited warranty Stanley will, at itsdiscretion, repair or replace any product which, uponinspection, is acknowledged by Stanley to be defective.

Incoming product for assembly resets the fastener count to zero from Switch 2An operator installs the fasteners with a pneumatic assembly tool. The PSI-Quali er determines complete versus incomplete assembly cycles. The quali er displays a green light for each complete assembly cycle. Red lights are illuminated and an alarm sounds for incomplete cycles from double hits, cross threads, strip outs or short cycles.

The PSI-Quali er increments the fastener count for each fastener installed with a complete cycle. When all of the required fasteners are assembled with completed cycles, the green batch OK light illuminates. If any fasten-ers have incomplete assembly cycles, the red NOK light illuminates and the alarm sounds. A 24V signal from the PSI-Quali er can be used to prevent products moving out of station (Switch 2) before all fasteners have complete assembly cycles.

“AH & AM” Pulse Tools

Hydraulic & Mechanical Transducer Controlled Pulse Tools

AH and AM series pulse tools offer excellent ergonomics delivering high torque with virtually no torque reaction. Thehydraulic pulse AH series and mechanical pulse AM series have been changing the industry since 2004 and as with

all pulse and impact tools in the PSI family, the AH & AM tools provides operator feedback. Upon cycle completion, thetool’s lights illuminate the work piece GREEN or RED to indicate OK/NOK cycle status.

AH series pulse tools use hydraulic fluid to transfer energy to the fastener with the lowest possible noise and vibration levels.

AM series pulse tools employ a proprietary mechanicalmechanism instead of hydraulic fluid to transfer energy to the

fastener enabling operation on more intense joint types andduty cycles. Since the AM series uses oil for lubricationonly, mechanical pulse tools do not require

periodic oil changes reducingmaintenance costs significantly.

An additional benefit of the mechanicalpulse unit is a higher power to weight ratio. For

example, the AM modelrated for 220 Nm weighs

only 2.6 kg, which is 30%lighter than the leading-

competitor’s comparablehydraulic shutoff tool.

The PSI-C controls Stanley AssemblyTechnologies’ complete line of transducerizedpulse and impact tools, including four types oftools designed to meet a wide range ofapplication requirements: AH – Hydraulic

Pulse, AM – Mechanical Pulse, AP – Pin-clutch Impact, and AT – Twin Hammer

Impact tools.

PSI-C controls the fasteningprocess by stopping the tool after

achieving the programmed torqueand/or angle target and error proofing the

operation with batchcounting, process controlI/O, and various types ofnetwork connectivity fornumerical results. SimpleMENU programmingreduces set-up time.

PSI-C Controller

“AH & AM” Pulse Tools

Hydraulic & Mechanical Transducer Controlled Pulse Tools

AH and AM series pulse tools offer excellent ergonomics delivering high torque with virtually no torque reaction. Thehydraulic pulse AH series and mechanical pulse AM series have been changing the industry since 2004 and as with

all pulse and impact tools in the PSI family, the AH & AM tools provides operator feedback. Upon cycle completion, thetool’s lights illuminate the work piece GREEN or RED to indicate OK/NOK cycle status.

AH series pulse tools use hydraulic fluid to transfer energy to the fastener with the lowest possible noise and vibration levels.

AM series pulse tools employ a proprietary mechanicalmechanism instead of hydraulic fluid to transfer energy to the

fastener enabling operation on more intense joint types andduty cycles. Since the AM series uses oil for lubricationonly, mechanical pulse tools do not require

periodic oil changes reducingmaintenance costs significantly.

An additional benefit of the mechanicalpulse unit is a higher power to weight ratio. For

example, the AM modelrated for 220 Nm weighs

only 2.6 kg, which is 30%lighter than the leading-

competitor’s comparablehydraulic shutoff tool.
