History Pakistan is a country which depends up to 60% on its agricultural
sector. In 1951 there was a agriculture sector which couldn’t meet its basics. In 1961 Agricultural Development Bank of Pakistan established. Agricultural Development Finance corporation and ADB were similar
and both were working with the capital provided by govt. they were merged into organization known as ADBP on Feb 18 1961.
On 14 Dec 2002, has converted the ADBP into ZTBL. After this incorporation all the assets & the liabilities of ADBP
became the assets & liabilities of ZTBL.

Management Functions•Function of management depend on different activities such as the planing, leading, controlling and staffing.
•These are the basic activities which are performed by the every manager directly or indirectly.
•In ZTBL managers are working in such an environment they are putting all their capabilities and skills to control, organize, motivating, and the decision making on daily bases.
•The structure of the bank is mechanistic and formal approaches to lead the organization goals. The management of the bank committed to achieve the goals.
PLANNING• Planning process is mostly adopted by the top management in ZTBL
and little involvement of the lower level of the employees
• ZTBL develop synergy effect through the proper planning. Every one of the bank pulls together as a team to gets the desired results.
• ZTBL also adopt planning process to reduce the unexpected difficulties with minimum resources.
ORGANIZING
• ZTBL is well organized organization. The bank has well motivated managers and employees. All staff committed to achieve the bank objectives.
• Managers are more intelligent and skillful, they are capable to allocate the resources effectively and efficiently.
• The bank structure is clear and has mechanistic style but flexible and the culture of the organization more participative and committed to the bank objectives.
LEADING• A good manager motivate his subordinates by his leadership style.
• The management of ZTBL mostly practices the authoritative style;
leadership style is very low in the bank. Although branch manager tries to
motivate and built the cohesiveness among the subordinates and
employees.
• The bank structure is perfect for the motivation and smooth leading of the
employee
CONTROLLING• The management of the bank ensure actual operation conform to
planned operations. There is also the responsibility of managers to do controlling activity such as conducting performance evaluation and taking action for inefficiency.
• There are some important steps which are taken by the manager like establishing performance standards and taking corrective action when he manage the wrong activities.

Decision making process• The decision making process in ZTBL is carried out by the top
management and little involvement of the lower level of the employees; only head of departments
• when a problem arises and appears discrepancy between an existing and a desired state of affairs.
• As usual there are also eight steps which are involved in decision making process such as identifying the problem, selecting the best alternatives and evaluating the decision effectiveness.
Organizational Design
Span of Control:•ZTBL has narrow span of control; there are only five or ten employees in a department that are controled by the department supervisor.•Narrow span of control is best for the organization because it is less expensive than the wide span of control and easily manages by the department manager and branch managers. •Due to the narrow span of control effective communication process are practiced
Organizational DesignChain of Command:•The bank chain of command is very clear regarding the authority from top to bottom.• Every member of the organization clearly known that how they do the work and whose are the responsible for solving the problems.•In the ZTBL every employees report to the departmental head which are responsible for the controls and manages his subordinates and report to branch managers daily activities of the department.
Organizational Design
Work Specialization:•ZTBL management also sub divide or break down the jobs into steps, and an individual are assign to complete that particular step according to his skills and capabilities.•A supervisor assign the task to individual who can perfectly do that particular activity for gaining the best out put for the bank.•ZTBL management utilize their workers according to their skills, assign task to the employees with respect to their qualification and training like Mobile credit Officers works in the field area, they are well trained and well motivated according to their jobs.
Organizational DesignCentralization:•ZTBL decision making process concentrate in centralization.The bank management also adopts the centralization during decision making, all future plans, strategies; objective setting and problem solving are developed by the top management.
Formalization:•ZTBL structure is highly formalized and there is perfect implementation of the rules and regulations within the organization.•Organization has standard rules and procedure in writting for each individual for their efective working.

The Treasury Division of ZTBL was formally established on May 08, 2012 after the approval of Board of Directors (BOD).
The main objectives are to maintain sufficient liquidity for the bank to honor its commitments as they fall due.

Loan Schemes Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) is a specialized
bank providing agricultural credit in rural areas of the country. Pakistan is an agricultural country and near about 60% of its population is working directly or indirectly related to agriculture industry

There was no Islamic service in ZTBL.But Now ZTBL introduced Hajj Application to create good relationship with their customers by providing this service.
Home Remittance
ZTBL Now offer Western Union (Home Remittance Service) for ZTBL and other walk in customers in 222 branches.
Locker Facility
• Now Zarai Taraqiati Bank is also facilities its customers by providing locker facility to them.
• Initially, this facility is offered in 12 branches.

Organizations current strategies• ZTBL develop a strategic plan to do best practices to fullfil the
gaps of agricultural sector as soon as possible.
• Strategist has focused to agricultural business and marketing because 70% population of the Pakistan live in rural area of the country and totally depend on the agriculture products.
• ZTBL has strategic plan to visualize the financing for increasing the technologies in the gear up farm produce, so that the agriculture sector can provide the food security of the country
Swot Analysis
Strengths ZTBL has a brand name in agriculture, it`s 1st and
large bank in Pakistan for agricultural financing .
ZTBL has no competitors in the market, some banks started lending facility for agri. business but due to lack of efficient team of MCOs those banks had to suffer heavy loss.
In Pakistan, majority of the farmers is poor that’s why farmers are required to get loan from the bank so ZTBL has a very vast market to operate in.
Weakness
In spite of the presence of technology many jobs are done manually.
Most of the employees even seniors managers are computer illiterate.
Lack of online banking system. Lack of efficiency of employs.
Opportunities The bank started computerizing its operation that
will increase the bank performance.
The bank has a good reputation in the market and its employees are highly trained for agri. business development planning so it can also operate in Middle East because the Arabs are now focusing on agriculture.
Threats Natural Calamities is also a problem, the bigger part of
the bank customers relies on the environmental condition.
The climate of the earth is rapidly changing due to which heavy rains and floods are often anticipated. This is an alarming situation for ZTBL to operate in the market being an agri. lender.
The example of 2010 flood is still in front of us those who are affected are unable to pay their loans back.
Conclusion
Zarai Taraqiati bank works for the promotion of the agricultural sector of Pakistan.
It facilitates the farmer’s society by providing different products and services. It helps them by offering loans to increase their source of income.
ZTBL is now focusing on how to facilitates the rural areas and development of rural areas of Pakistan.
