I was flying from Dubai to Tashkent, en route to Bukhara and Samarkand, when someone told me I should visit Kyrgyzstan – especially Bishkek in springtime when it’s very beautiful.

So I went there and found the beauty of spring . . . and I returned later and experienced the beauty of autumn. But what I liked most, along with the beauty nature had provided, was the beauty of the women from that part of the world.

So I began to study these beautiful women and wondered how I could depict their beauty for the world to see, while at the same time retaining their simplicity and innocence.

Since then I’ve taken most of my images of women from that part of the world and I’ve compiled them in a manner that I hope will showcase not only their beauty, their compassion and their sensuality, but also how there is art in beauty and beauty in art.

There’s beauty in every woman everywhere and it’s my mission as a photographer to bring it out and share it with you. Some people may think differently of Eastern European women but I try to prove them wrong with my photography.

With Ralph Waldo Emerson’s words in mind, ‘Never lose an opportunity of seeing anything that is beautiful,’ I hope you’ll enjoy these images of beauty and embrace the beauty of God’s creations with me.

Why Y.O.U.?

This book is a celebration of beauty, with a special emphasis on the women of Bishkek in Kyrgyzstan. But there is another beauty which is equally if not even more important and that is inner beauty, something Hersh Chadha believes we all possess in abundance. In a way, this book is therefore as much about you – the reader – as it is about the models you’ll see on the following pages.
