Practice examination questions

On the next slides you will see real examination questions taken from past examination papers.

You can either print off the questions and write on them when answering them or answer the questions in your exercise books.

Use the mark scheme provided to mark your work and to see what key words examiners are looking for in good examination answers.

A 6 mark question can be daunting at first, so follow these simple steps to answer every 6 mark question you come to:-1. Highlight the key words – in this case it is factors and enzyme-

catalysed reactions 2. Highlight the command words – in this case it is describe 3. List key words you should use in the answer (there should be at

least 6)4. In this question it asks you to name factors that affect enzymes –

write about 4 factors that affect enzyme action5. Always answer 6 mark questions in bullet points

Mark your work using the mark scheme how well did you do?

Extension work – Complete the assignments on Seneca:

Decide whether you want to complete the higher revision questions or the foundation revision questions. You can do both if you wish.
