World Trade Centers Association

Founded in 1970, is a not-for-profit, non-political association dedicated to the establishment and effective operation of World Trade Centers (WTCs) as instruments for trade expansion representing 316 members in 91 countries.

The WTCA is an unofficial umbrella trade association that unites corporations and government agencies in international trade. The WTCA's founding principles are:

- To encourage the expansion of world trade; - To promote international business relationships and understanding among nations; - To foster increased participation in world trade by industrializing nations; - To create and encourage mutual assistance and cooperation among members; and -To promote and further the concept of the WTC.

WTC Common Uses

World Trade Centers quite an amazing hub of activity. They often offer a fully equipped conference center with auditorium board and meeting rooms including all catering facilities.

WTCs has also a vivid business club that meets regularly. Tenants and visitors are welcome for shopping in the shopping center.

There is ample parking that is available in the underground car park and visitors can always find a convenient spot.

WTC offer dormitories so that people can stay at WTC because of distance or other considerations. WTC residents may choose from a variety of evening activity programs such as support groups, recreation, personal development workshops and computer instruction.

WTC complexes often include residential precincts as well. Buildings can take advantage of that prominent address and units will have views to the landmark buildings and open spaces.

07.01 The Capital MallIntroduction

The Capital Mall

The Retail Component of Abuja WTC is a mall prominently situated in the heart of the precinct, acting as the bound for the different uses around, above and bellow it.

The building configures the podium of the WTC tower, opening to the city and being accessed through plazas along the main roads on its two extremes. The mall is the gate of the Central District from the Railway Station, and takes advantage of the footfall originated by that public transportation facility.

Architectonically, the mall presents itself as a raised structure with strategic openings towards the plazas. It offers a dynamic energetic facades from the exterior, while providing a protected “indoor-outdoor” space rounding the base of the Tower, with a “canyon” profile.

The mall can contain shops, cafes, restaurants and cinemas – thus offering a variety of entertainment and shopping options as well as venues for recreation and socializing.

The mall will also include specialized retail and support services for the commercial, educational and social activities related to the WTC.
