In this work you will need to complete tasks which make changes photos or images. You will be using the tools in the application you are using to read this worksheet!

Complete each task in this application and save your work using an appropriate filename.

Task 1: Resize an image

The rule about resizing images is very simple.

Always use a corner handle to make an image smaller or bigger.

This will maintain the true aspects of the image and keep everything in proportion.

In the table below do not make changes to the original image on the left. Only change the image on the right.

Task 2: Changing the colour settings

Select the image and right-click the mouse to see the available menu. Select ‘Format Picture’ from the list to see the Format Picture dialogue box.

From the options available in the ‘Color’ menu, choose an appropriate option to change the colour photo to a black and white photo.

Task 3: Adjusting brightness

Sometimes photos can be too dark. This means that not enough detail can be seen in the photo. We can make changes to the brightness of a photo to reveal some of the lost detail.

Using the Picture Format tools, try adjusting the brightness improve the image and reveal more detail.

Task 4: Cropping images

Sometimes you might need to crop an image. This means you need to cut out some of the image. It’s like using scissors to cut out the bits you do not want in a photo!
