WORKING TOGETHER AS A GLOBAL COMMUNITY FOR LANDSCAPE AND CLIMATE RESTORATION

Greetings from Jan Lambert, USA

OUR BEAUTIFUL CONNECTICUT RIVER FLOWS THROUGH A FERTILE VALLEY

We also have many small towns and villages in the surrounding steep areas , as well as small farms and many trees.

We enjoy much natural beauty but we have problems with water management. Rain falling on the streets in our towns commonly flows into storm drains

and then directly into our rivers. This is not good for the land or the rivers.

ERODED SOIL IS DEPOSITED IN THE RIVER AS SEDIMENT, WHICH IS AMAJOR POLLUTANT

We have water pollution.

In 2011, Vermont suffered a devastating flood which left many homeless. This disaster has made the people aware of need for better rainwater management.

There have been some successes at repairing the damage from the flood but it is very expensive. Out of Slovakia and other nations has emerged a model

for reducing natural disasters through rainwater retention.

Extreme erosion from Hurricane Irene repaired.
