Physical Disability & Sensory Impairment Partnership Board – 28 January 2010

• Talk about a new plan to show how Adult Social Services will ensure that people who use services and carers are involved in helping to shape and improve services.

What I want to do today

What is the plan?

The plan is to: • Create more opportunities and

ways for people to get involved

• Make sure the way we involve people works well

• Make sure that peoples’ contribution makes a real a difference

• Work with other organisations

• Support people

• Evaluate how effective our involvement activities have been

What will be done this year (2010/11)?

In 2010/11 we will:• Support user-led

organisations to develop in Lincolnshire

• Develop Reference Groups• Review involvement of people

in the Putting People First programme

• Build engagement activities into Service Plans

• Amend Contracts so that providers have same standards of involvement

• Develop outcome measures and targets for reporting

In 2010/11 we will:

• Work together with Partnership Boards and Reference Groups, and make sure activities are coordinated,

• Promote Partnership Boards.• Look at how people who use

services can have more influence on Partnership Boards.

• Develop policy and guidance on the reward and recognition of people we work with.

• Provide access to learning and development opportunities which help people to get involved.

In 2010/11 we will:• Develop an effective working

relationship with LINk

• Put in place monitoring arrangements to see how well we are including people from all sectors of society.

• Develop guidance on how to monitor the effectiveness of involvement activities.

• Introduce a checklist to use to evaluate if involvement activities were done well.

• Have their say about the plan

• Support the plan• Promote

consultation on the plan
