Working Title films is owned by Universal Studios which is
an American based film company. This means that for them
to create a British film that is a success, they will need to
show the side of Britain that Americans are familiar with.
This mean that they would mainly use British stereotypes.
If they create a film that shows Britain in a way that we
see it, it would only be a hit in Britain. However if they
use a famous American actor in the film, it may become a
hit across seas which is where they make a lot of money.
Britain's population is minute compared to America so if
they want a large profit they need it to be a hit in America
and other countries.
Working Titles Film “The World’s End” was a big success
in the USA and Britain. The use of stereotypical Landmarks
lets the American population understand that it is a British
film.
