Meetings are held September - May

Mailbox - Mailbox membership is an option for those who cannot attend regular club meetings. Lesson handouts, educational information, and newsletters are mailed monthly.

Homemakers Has A Place For You!

Kentucky Extension Homemaker Highlights

1914 - First Extension Home Demonstration clubs organized. 1925 - First county homemakers’ organizations established. 1932 - Kentucky Homemaker Association formed. 1936 - Kentucky Homemakers joined Associated Country Women of the World. 1977 - KEHA teamed with UK to form The Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. As of April 2009, donations totaled more than $1,000,000. 1980 - KEHA presented needlepoint tapestry to hang in the Capitol rotunda. 2007-2008 - Celebration of the 75th anniversary & annual meeting of KEHA. Fact: Kentucky Homemaker members annually report 450,000 volunteer hours valued at $6 million dollars to the Commonwealth.

Homemaker Scholarships College scholarships up to $1,000.00 each may be awarded to Woodford County graduating seniors who will be attending a Kentucky college or university. The Sarah T. Feltner Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a student majoring in Family and Consumer Sciences or a related field. The Jenny Carr Scholarship is awarded to an active 4-H member who has at least five years membership in 4-H. Funding for the scholarships is provided through Homemaker club donations and other fundraising events. Application forms and guidelines for each scholarship are available from the Woodford County Cooperative Extension Service and are due by April 1.

Programs & Projects

Secret Santa

On the first Saturday of December youth, ages 4 thru 12, shop for gifts handmade by Homemaker Members. Proceeds support 4-H and community service projects. Backpack Project This project is coordinated by Extension Homemakers

and 4-H Club Members. School supplies and monetary donations from Homemakers, 4-H members, civic groups, churches, businesses, and citizens are organized then distributed to students K-12 through the Woodford County Schools’ Family Resource Centers.
