Imagine planning a party, and the invita-tions never get delivered? Chrysalis
teamings are already happening, the
"party" planning is well underway. If we
as a community don't let the young people around us know about the invi-
tation to the weekend of Chrysalis, how will they get
to see the love of Jesus as it is expressed through
our hands and feet?!!
Please consider inviting a Chrysalis representative to
your youth event to present information on this
most dynamic, life changing event. Girls' weekend is coming up sooner than you think over Memorial
Day weekend in May. Boys' weekend is July 25-27.
The weekends are being held in a retreat setting so
there are no airbeds or cots to transport; there are SHOWERS available for the participants so comfort
is ensured.
If you are interested in sponsoring a youth but have
not done so yet and need support, your Emmaus
sponsor mentors can help or you can contact a
Chrysalis Board member to help. Remember the feeling of your weekend experience and give the gift
of a weekend to a 15-18 year old person in your life!

HELP NEEDED
As previously announced George and Mo Poteat of the Second Sunday at Six Gathering have agreed to act as Out of
Conference Room or Outside Team Coordinators. During the Men’s Walk #46 at Akron First United Methodist
Church we discovered some of the challenges and rewards. However remember each walk is unique so we are uncer-
tain as to what challenges and rewards this group is going to face for the upcoming Women’s Walk.
Extra help is always welcome, but more so on Thursday afternoon as supplies for the Kitchen, Conference
Room and general housekeeping have to be moved from storage and positioned where needed. Also on Thursday af-
ternoon we have to get the sleeping rooms ready for the Pilgrims, set up the conference room, and help organize the
Chapel and Agape rooms. The team will also need help moving furnature while getting their sleeping quarters ready.
Sunday is another time where extra help is greatly appreciated as per our contract with the host church any
sleeping area must be returned to the original condition by 8:30 a.m. Sunday. This involves moving furniture, cleaning
and replacing items moved to accommodate the cots, air mattresses, etc. used by both the team and pilgrims. Then
following lunch and closing all supplies must be loaded onto the trailers.
During the remainder of the weekend the Out of Conference Room or Outside Team perform various house-
keeping tasks such as cleaning bathrooms, making sure the toiletry supplies are restocked and other tasks which con-
tribute to the Pilgrims comfort.
If you can help please contact Steve and Pat Morse: pamorse1@rochester.rr.com.
DeColores,
Bob & Trudie Slocum, Facilities Coordinators
AGAPE The Men’s walk is drawing to a close. Women’s third teaming is March 21&22. The Women’s Walks #46 is April
3-6th. Now is the time to be working on the Agape for the walk. We need to continue praying for the team the
team and the pilgrims going on the walk. We have agape placemats and napkins. We will have them at various
events for you to take and decorate. Each set of walks takes approximately seven hundred decorated napkins and
placemats. Again, pray for the team selection and the future pilgrims. Pray without ceasing. The Women’s
prayer vigils are only about 70% full. Don’t forget you can sign up for more than one time slot.

Calling All Clowns and Those Who Want To Be
As you are aware clowning is a very important part of the Chrysalis experi-
ence. Actually, clowning can be a very important part of Christian Ministry.
Being this is such an awesome way to show God's love, I would invite those
that are interest, or even curious, to contact me. We are looking to build the num-
ber of clowns involved in Chrysalis and all are welcome. In fact, all are encouraged to
explore this wonderful ministry. This is another avenue to show God's love to our
brothers and sisters. If you would like to know more or have an idea to put on the
red nose and funny shoes, please contact me. We will set up a time and place when
we find out who is interested and when they are available.
Please contact me at 585-301-1039 (text or voice) or jtmtst@rochester,rr,com.
God bless, John (Nickels) Trowbridge
Community Lay Directors Thoughts….Well we are now in between our two
spring walks. Thank you to all for your prayers and support in making Men’s walk #46 a won-
derful experience for all. The women’s walk is very quickly approaching and offering many op-
portunities to help support with your prayers & time. Your can help in the kitchen, out of
conference room support, and attendance at send-off, candlelight & closing. These places of
need are great ways to serve behind the scenes, and are a fun way to help out. Please find the
times & contact information within this Rainbow Connection. We look forward to seeing you
in Akron again.
Please mark your Calendar for our Regional Leadership Development & Training event
scheduled for June 7th at the Hamburg UMC. The Upper Room has been working on this pi-
lot program for the past three years, and is now it offering to all. We are planning on this
starting at 9:00 AM, and then ending about 3:00 PM. This will be led by several of our North
east regional Emmaus leaders. They will be leading a clergy certification course, and also sev-
eral laity training session. As well as some combined sessions. There will be four core Walk
to Emmaus presentations that will be given. Then two or three presentations that are appro-
priate to the needs in our Emmaus Community. The main theme is “4th Day leaders Embody-
ing Christ”. Lunch will be provided by the local gatherings, with a small cost to cover ex-
penses. Please be watching for more information next month, but mark the date for now.

Galleria and Eastern Hills. Please plan to come. Information on registration to follow.
Quick message from Supplies: Jeff & Char Smith
Are you looking for an agape opportunity? We had an unfortunate accident during the
last set of walks where three of our chalices were broken. We have purchased some
lovely myrtlewood chalices with platens to replace them. The good news is that these
are not nearly as fragile, however we could use some help to offset the cost. Anyone
interested in contributing toward the cost of the chalices, send your donation to the
treasurers. Make checks payable to WNY Walk to Emmaus and send to Paul & Mary
Kay Williams, 5362 Depot Street, West Valley, NY 14171. Please note on the check
that it is a donation toward the chalices. God Bless You and DeColores!
