HISTORY – STATUS QUO – FUTURE how everything started For over 5,000 years, people have been moving across the Mongolian, Siberian and Turkish snow with wide boards. In the 17th century, today‘s know ski came from Norway to the Alps to Kranj, where the popularity of skiing had to wait until the 19th century. With the first ski resorts such as St. Moritz, Kitzbühel and Geilo, the tourists came to the winter mountains.

The enthusiasm was so great, that they wanted to go skiing on the island, but the main thing was missing: the snow. In 1953, Barton Hall opened the first complete dry ski slope. Without snow you can nowadays ski and snowboard in 120 other slopes. To ensure the sliding of the ski, still watering or high-quality lubricants are often used. Also in the Nordic skiing, snow-dependent solutions have been used for years. The inventor of the plastic mats for ski jumping is the former GDR nationaltrainer Hans Renner. The first official summer GP took place in 1994.

CLIMATE SHIFTING one thing is for sure: The winter remains! The only question is: Will the snow arrive in time befor the tourists? And in some places even: Is the snow arriving at all? It is noticeable that winters are changing. And what is already a super winter today was considered an average in the 60s.

INNOVATION WITH PASSIONIn 2009, passionate winter sports enthusiasts Jens and Arndt unite their knowledge of snow sports and material knowledge. The development of the now patented textile snow begins.

The goal: »We want to enable the fun of winter sports in all weather conditions and in all geographic locations.«

The over 175 years knowledge of the Chemnitz University and other research institutes ever played an important role as well as the partners from the Saxon textile industry, clubs and ski schools.
