When properly prepared and supported, school librarians
lead the digital transformation of learning. What about you?
Are you ready to champion the future ready cause?
World’s Best Workforce
This bill was passed by the Minnesota Legislature in 2013 to ensure every school district in the state is making strides to increase student performance.
Each school district must develop a plan that addresses the following five goals:
All children are ready for school.
All third-graders can read at grade level.
All racial and economic achievement gaps between students are closed.
All students are ready for career and college.
All students graduate from high school.
School Media Specialists
Support the World’s Best Workforce by:
Curating print and electronic collections for all students that engage and challenge them in their reading and learning
Providing welcoming spaces for students to extend their learning and access to technology before, during and after the school day
Working in collaboration with teachers to provide robust lessons that include digital citizenship and research skills
Partnering with public libraries to ensure all students have equitable access to materials, programs, and resources
Share Your Story
Share the news of your good work in supporting Minnesota’s World Best Workforce with your principal, parents, school board and broader community. Make it a quick email, chat in the hall, social media post, news story in a district publication or something else entirely. Good news is always welcome!
