Office 2007 Integration

§ With Office 2007 we are introducing the DM Ribbon § Allows for quick interaction with DM from a

convenient tab § It is available in Word, Excel and PowerPoint§ No MS Office 2007 ODMA integration§ New Document Information feature

New - Document Information

§ Quick access to Document information from within MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Microsoft Word Integration

§ Open from DM§ Save As

- Save As- Save As DM Version- Save with Options

§ Insert- Picture- DM Footer- Text from File

Office Menu

§ Active Integration allows for the ability to Open and Save documents from the main Office menu

§ Passive integration will not have the DM Save As options in this menu

§ Office 2007 offers an easily configurable Insert Footer dialog

Merging Documents

§ Mail Merge- Uses the Office mail merge

wizard once documents are chosen

§ Compare and Merge- Native and DM documents- Only DM documents - Does not save as an

attachment to the original document

§ Microsoft Excel 2007 contains the same basic options as Word except:- Copy as DM Link and Paste as DM Link

§ Capture Full E-mail Address- Gives the capability to configure for the capturing

of a full email address: “Name that Appears in the Header [emailaddress@nowhere.ending]”.

§ Ability to dump cache to an XML file- Allows for the dumping of client workstation cache

files to be written to an XML file when refreshed § Tab Order

- Tab order for profile forms can be set using DM Designer

Differences Between 5105 DVDP and 5.2 DV

§ 5105 has both Dynamic Views and Dynamic Profiling while 5.2 only has Dynamic Views. Profiling has been enhanced with a new Save interface

§ 5105 used a DVDP Configuration Utility installed on the administrator workstation while 5.2 uses the DM Webtop for Dynamic Views configuration and administration

§ Additional security enhancements have been added to the 5.2 DV including security at any subscription level

§ 5.2 supports multiple Dynamic Views

Differences Between 5105 DVDP and 5.2 DV

§ 5.2 supports a multilingual environment at all levels

§ 5.2 allows for grouping at each level for shorter display lists in the All Node

§ DM 5105 DVDP tables must be manually created and set up through scripts run against the database, in 5.2 it is built into Library Generation

§ 5105 clients must install DV and DP separately from the main deployment package and 5.2 can be installed with the client’s deployment package

§ 5.2 subscription levels can start with the child level

§ The DM API is based on the Component Object Model (COM), developers using the DM API use COM-enabled languages, such as Visual Basic, Visual C++, and ASP, to create their applications. § The 5.2 release will include Primary Interop

Assemblies (PIA”S) to support development in the .NET development languages.
