What is your goal for your life? Where do you want to go?

What is God’s goal for your life? Where does He want you to go?

“Then the LORD said, ‘I have observed the misery of My people in Egypt, and have heard them crying out because of their oppressors, and I know about their sufferings. I have come down to rescue them from the power of the Egyptians and to bring them from that land to a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey...”

JEALOUSY: In Hebrew, ginah which means to be envious of others. In Greek, zelos, which means envy & malice. Jealousy is defined as “a lack of tolerance or resentment toward someone’s success, achievements, advantages in life, or relationships.” It is the “green-eyed monster that shows up seemingly out of nowhere and takes over the situation.”

“Jealousy can destroy a company, a marriage, a family, a ministry, a friendship, and a life if it is allowed to. When jealousy is fleeting, it’s more annoying than deadly, but this is the exact point where you need God’s truth. If you dismiss a jealous thought because you know it’s unfounded and a lie, the emotion has no power over you. But if you ponder the jealousy over and over, you will eventually act out of your emotion and entertain it as truth.”

-- Michelle Borquez

“But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, do not be arrogant and so lie against the truth. This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, natural, demonic. For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every evil thing. But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy.”

James3:14-17 (NASB)

“A tranquil heart is life to the body, but jealousy is rottenness to the bones.”

Proverbs 14:30 (HCSB)

“Let us walk with decency, as in the daylight: not in carousing and drunkenness; not in sexual impurity and promiscuity; not in quarreling and jealousy.”

Romans 13:13 (HCSB)

“Now the works of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, moral impurity, promiscuity, idolatry, sorcery, hatreds, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambitions, dissensions, factions, envy, drunkenness, carousing, and anything similar. I tell you about these things in advance—as I told you before—that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, self-control. Against such things there is no law.”

Galatians 5:19-22 (HCSB)

“His brothers were jealous of him...”Genesis 37:11 (HCSB)

THE ROOT OF JEALOUSY:

1) Fear that someone will betray me or let me down

2) Anger that someone has what I don’t have

3) Discontentment & Dissatisfaction

4) Insecurity
