Western Wisconsin Natural Gas/Dairy Basin

- Phase 1: Emerald Dairy

Biogas Refinery and Anaerobic Digester at Emerald Dairy

Methane (biogas) from digester processed into Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)

CNG transported in DOT approved CNG transport trailers

CNG delivered to Northern Natural Gas (NNG) pipeline injection site; CNG from

Emerald Dairy transferred to NNG pipeline for sale to 3M company

Baldwin Dairy

Jon-De Dairy

Pipeline for Methane (biogas) transfer

8 miles of pipeline to be placed in township road right-of-way to move methane (biogas) from Baldwin & Jon-De Dairies to Phase 2 Biogas Refinery

Phase 2 Biogas Refinery to be located adjacent to NNG pipeline

injection point

Phase 2 Biogas Refinery will process “digester-produced methane”

(biogas) from 4000 cows at Baldwin and Jon-De Dairies

Western Wisconsin Natural Gas / Dairy Basin: Natural Gas will be

injected into the NNG pipeline from:

• 4000 cows at Emerald Dairy

• 1300 cows at Baldwin Dairy

• 2700 cows at Jon-De Dairy

Major Natural Gas Pipelines in Wisconsin

Wisconsin has…

• An existing network of major natural gas pipelines

• An expanding “large scale” dairy industry

• The potential for several natural gas/ dairy basins
