• There is a $35 fee for each office visit; labs and tests are an additional charge

• We do not bill insurance but will provide documentation if you wish to file a claim

• Students may pay with check, cash or credit card OR have the charges placed on their ACU banner account

• All medical information is kept confidential in accordance with HIPAA law

Required Immunizations:

• Completed MMR series

• Completed Tetanus series; booster within the last ten years

• Meningococcal Meningitis Vaccine must be administered within the last five years and no later than 10 days prior to move-in day; waived if 22 or over

We provide help with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, adjustment difficulties, and other emotional needs

Initial session is $10

All counseling records are kept confidential

Psychiatric Care

We provide outpatient treatment for conditions such as

Fees range from $35 to $150

SOAR

It is a referral program designed to assist students get connected to resources on the ACU campus.

We seek to create a safe environment for students to discuss challenges and obstacles they face.

We provide a secure, online referral form.

After students are referred, we contact them and connect them with campus resources, such as: Counseling Center / Medical Clinic Alpha Scholars Program Career Counseling / Career Center Residence Life Academic Development Center The Writing / Speaking Centers Student Financial Services

Our staff support students in numerous ways: by helping reach solutions to new

barriers, by helping navigate financial concerns

or questions, by serving as advocates for students in

discussions with faculty, by providing a safe, confidential

environment to relate to others, and many other support functions.

Who can refer? Anyone concerned about a student:

parents, peers on campus, or ACU faculty and staff members. 

How do I know when to refer? If you are unsure about the best campus

resource for a student or if you would like some coaching on the best way to handle a student situation, please call us and we will evaluate the situation together.

Family Educational Rights & Privacy Act - 1976

The primary rights afforded to the student are:

The right to inspect and review their education records.

The right to have some control over the disclosure of information from the records.

The right for the student to retain control of access to education records.

Enrollment Verification Primarily for insurance purposes

Certificates can be obtained by the student from The Depot link on myACU or through the Registrar’s office website

Verification for each semester begins two weeks before the first day of class

Dropping / WithdrawingDropping a Course – during a long

semester Day 1-5: “drop”; no transcript record,

does not count against block tuition hours

Beginning Day 6: “withdraw”; student uses withdrawal form, ‘W’ on transcript, counts against block tuition hours

No drop/withdrawal after week 12; student earns grade & becomes a part of their permanent record

Withdrawing from the University

What does this entail? Withdrawal from all classes and

leaving ACU

Student receives W grades

Student can contact The Depot to begin this process, but we hope that it will not be necessary

A Few Things to Remember

Be aware of the academic calendar. Check the Registrar’s website for access to it.

Remind your student about ACU email.

Students who are responsible for their own business learn problem solving skills that are very important – resist the urge to jump in and take care of things.

ACU is a great place for students to make mistakes.
