Some things we are doing this year…
More in Units of Study…
Reading Workshop
Reading Workshop Philosophy Student Choice: Students select books of their choice; putting the ownership in their hands. Students are encouraged to check-out books from the school library, classroom library or the township library.
Differentiation: Students conference one-on-one with the teacher throughout the week. Students tell me what they are reading, goals, and I assess what they need to do in order to become stronger readers and writers.
Reading workshop is the most effective way to instill a passion for reading in students, and ultimately a lifelong love of reading.
